Celebrate reading, Reading Frenzy, and some of some of our favorite artists by pledging to our project and purchasing our prints!
Reading Frenzy is a small, specialty bookshop in Portland, Oregon, devoted to independent media, small press and self-published titles. These prints are Nos. 1, 2 and 3 in an ongoing series celebrating our favorite pastime and some of our favorite artists, the sales of which support our mission! Print no. 4 (not pictured) is by Kate Bingaman-Burt and will come out this summer!
Each print is limited to an edition of 250 and exclusively available through Reading Frenzy! Celebrate reading and support Reading Frenzy!
Here are the prints so far:
Reading Frenzy! by Carson Ellis, 17"x22". Archival pigment, digital print on 100% cotton rag paper, signed and numbered edition of 250. Printed by Harlan Mahaffy. $40. Currently available. The tote bag features this image and is a 14 3/8"x14" bull denim woven cotton tote with dual handles.
No Book Ever Ends by Aaron Renier, 16"x20". Silkscreen on eco-friendly, archival quality stock. Signed and number edition of 250. Printed by Seizure Palace. $30. Currently available.
Steady by Nikki McClure. Silkscreen on eco-friendly, archival quality stock. Signed and numbered edition of 250. To be printed by Seizure Palace. $30. Late May release.
Kate Bingaman-Burt will be creating a piece based on our patrons nominations for the best zines ever! Become a backer for her print and get the chance to submit your own nomination! This print will ship in summer of 2011.
The 500 Friends of Reading Frenzy Membership entitles you to a 10% discount on regular merchandise, 25% discount on Reading Frenzy releases (such as our print series, t-shirts and totes) and discounted admission to our ticketed events for one year.
Our minimum goal is $4000, but we've got plenty to do with every dollar raised above that, so please pledge freely! Our goal of $4000 will pay for:
- printing costs and artist's commission for three prints (about $3000)
- shipping and handling (about $600)
- Kickstarter project fees. (about $400)
Special thanks to the artists for making great art, accepting modest compensation for the use of it and for supporting Reading Frenzy!

That depends on what you order. The Carson Ellis and Aaron Renier prints, tote bags, memberships and thank you cards will ship in May if individually ordered. The Nikki McClure print will ship in June. The Kate Bingaman Burt print and the postcard set will ship by the end of August. If you've ordered a print combo we'd like to ship them all at once, but other arrangements can be made.

Yes. Each artist was offered the same compensation in cash or trade or some combination thereof. It's a fair rate for an illustration but a modest rate for licensing an image and producing a product. All of the artists are friends of Reading Frenzy, want to support our mission, and were happy to participate in the series.
