$250 funds a large set of dynamic, cyberpunk-themed stock photos; multiple poses, actions, props, and lighting set-ups.
Background
Hi. My name is Jade Macalla. I work on different types of video and photography projects, one of which is the creation of photo references for visual artists. (Some folks call these 'stock photos', but I'm not sure that is really what they are.) I tend to concentrate on action-oriented references, sort of like a single frame from an action or fantasy film.
Here are a couple examples of the types of reference/stock photos I create, along with examples of some of the types of artwork that are created using them.

Creating these photo refs is one of my favorite things to work on, but due to a very packed schedule I don't get to do it very often. Therefore, when I do work on them I want to make sure that the subjects and the setups are ones that artists might truly find useful.
So I thought what better way to ensure that there is a real interest in a given series of images, and to guarantee the necessary time and resources, than by using Kickstarter. It's a bit of an experiment, but let's see what happens. Here's the pitch...
The Pitch
If this project gets funded I will create a brand new series of images featuring a Cyberpunk/Sci-Fi character doing all sorts of crazily kinetic things (e.g. leaping, falling, fighting, getting thrown about) photographed from various odd and interesting angles (as well as standard compositions). The core series will consist of 16 images:
- 4 images - 360 character turnaround; studio with even lighting
- 8 images - Exterior, various props, very kinetic, interesting angles
- 4 images - Studio, high-contrast lighting, various props, poses & angles
Here are a few examples of some of the different types of actions, angles, and lighting we will use:
I will post the 16 core images on my deviantART account under a Creative Commons: Attribution-NonCommercial license - so everyone will have access to the core images with which to do any noncommercial thing they like.
Those who help to fund this project will, of course, have access to the 16 core images PLUS at least 16 additional, exclusive images from the series, depending on the donation level. Please see the sidebar for details on all the different rewards.

The core sets of images (the original one and the Air Assault extra) will be a single "character". Although the costume will change somewhat throughout (e.g. with and without a coat, with and without tactical gear, various weapons/props) the images will all be of the same basic "character". Since some people like lots of swooshing fabric and some people do not, we will try (as much as possible) to shoot as much as we can with and without various layers of clothing and gear.
In general "cyberpunk" terms I would say this character will be something of a street samurai or a corporate security troubleshooter.
