About this project
Dear friends, fans, supporters, and interested parties,
The past few years have be an exciting time for Finn Miles. I (Paul) started playing acoustic shows in 2006 under the band name "Finn Miles." Since then a band of family members and friends have sprung up beside me, endeavoring to create fantastic, uplifting, creative, uniquely American music. We've shared this music throughout Central Iowa through enthusiastic performances and are quickly growing into a notable and respected band. To reflect this growth we feel it's time to "think big," put together an extremely professional collection of indie-americana rock songs, and expand our touring range.
As a prolific writer I'm always a step or two ahead of our recording process. I have recently written a new batch of songs (tied together with string and code-named: Winteresque EP) and am looking forward to partnering on the development of these new songs with music fans everywhere through Kickstarter.
Here's the plan. I'm creating demos of the songs as we speak. By the time our Kickstarter fundraising is completed I hope to start tracking in the studio with producer Scott Gratton. All tracking should be completed by February 2010, with a projected release date of May 1, 2010. Once the EP is released we'll start the PR trail and plan a summer 2010 Midwest tour. (we'd love to come play a show for you!)
I anticipate needing $2,000 to kick-start this project. We will be using many of our own resources, but the studio time, mastering, manufacturing, and artwork/layout that are required for a top-notch product are simply outside of our financial grasp right now.
