Be a supporter of new choral music with an album of brand-new works for chorus by Thomas Juneau. Featuring Summit Chorale and the JVA!
The album will feature many of my popular works for chorus performed by my professional choir, the Juneau Vocal Alliance (JVA). These include The Rose of Sharon http://www.jwpepper.com/10192365.item and O Vos Omnes http://www.jwpepper.com/3209020.item. It will include new works for women's choir, such as the three-movement O Magnum Mysterium for Women's Choir and Harp. It will also feature five new works for unaccompanied chorus, including a setting of the rarely set poem Musica Dei Donum Optimi (Music, gift of the highest God) and an eight-part setting of Tenebrae Factae Sunt, and a setting for double-chorus and organ of Mirabile Mysterium.
Another very exciting component of the album will be two works for large chorus, brass, soloists, percussion, and organ! The first of the works is a setting of Gaudete, which was premiered at Rutgers University in December of 2011. The second work is the large-scale Te Deum which Summit Chorale premiered in its original version in November 2011. It is very exciting that Summit Chorale and the JVA will come together to perform these works! Also featured will be soloists Tami Petty, Sharon Byrne, Mark A. Boyle, and Jonathan Mortensen!
Choral Music is an art which exists in time, and its beauty is drawn from the art of people working together at an unprecedented level to perform works of sheer sonic beauty. It is truly a unique genre which needs a community to support it and help it thrive. Like all art, it also needs new work to keep it fresh and help it continue to grow.
This project is an embodiment of that philosophy. I have been involved in choral music throughout my life, and this first album is a culmination of the learning and growing that I have achieved in this field which is my passion. I am so fortunate to be able to bring together all the facets of my artistic life into one project.
All of this will be recorded at Saint Joseph's Church in Carteret, New Jersey.
WE NEED YOUR HELP! We are very fortunate to have many extremely talented professional musicians participating in this project, and we need your help supporting them as they use their talent to bring this new music to life! In addition, your support will help cover recording and production expenses for the album! Your kindness will allow us to bring new music to the world of song! There are also other expenses which come with this, including licensing of the published works, recording expenses including our recording engineer, and distribution and marketing expenses. Any support we receive will go directly to support all of these worthy expenses.
Thank you so much for your time and support of this new project!
FAQ

The majority of our expenses are personnel expenses. We have hired professional singers, brass, and percussion players to help make this album outstanding. As much as all of our musicians believe in this project, and wish they could offer their services for free, they are professionals, and this is their career. We wish to compensate them fairly for their amazing talent and time. Our recording engineer, another professional, must also be compensated.

The Juneau Vocal Alliance applied for 501c3 status in July of 2011. The IRS takes a very long time to review all applications- we should be receiving our tax-deductible number from them very soon now. Once the IRS contacts us regarding our non-profit status, all donations made since the time of initial application last summer will become retroactively tax deductible. We appreciate your patience and your support.
