A man's amazing journey of having everything only to loose it in an instant. But only in his loss is true hope for his life found.
The Story
Ron Morin lived a life that most people can only dream about. He had everything that money could buy him...money, cars, plane, yacht, houses, box seats, heck he even owned a Bentley. Ron soon found himself surrounded by movie stars, celebrities, mobsters, and beautiful women. Strangely, in this wild and cray life, Ron was empty and living without hope. In a remarkable and tragic turn of events Ron lost everything. He went from money and cars to homeless and picking up pop cans to pay for rent. As hard as this was on Ron, (and though he didn't know it) this was the best thing that could have happened. During this time of loss Ron changed his dream. Instead of living for himself he began helping others in need. It began as a simple mission to help some people during an earthquake but soon it took off out of control. With the mission of helping other first, Ron found himself traveling across the world to help strangers in need. Interestingly, Ron's new life of charity instilled hope to everyone he met, and in doing so he finds meaning and hope for his own life.
The Documentary
I was sitting in Guatemala and Ron told me his story, and I thought, "This is the most insane thing I have ever heard!" So I did what most people would do...I asked him to tell it again and I wrote it down and sent it to my friend. In 2 hours he emailed me back and didn't believe it was real. After convincing him it was real, we realized we needed to tell this story. I believe that in our culture today, one of the most powerful mediums to tell a story is film. And since this story is so powerful, we felt that it must be told by film. The drawback is that I don't know much about movies except that I like to watch them. So I set off to figure out how to make this story a reality and met a lot of cool people along the way who know a lot more than I'll ever know about movies. Our goal is to tell Ron's story as a documentary and we have a lot of people excited and waiting to do this!
The Dream
Our dream is that everyone hears this story...plain and simple. We're not in this for notoriety or even the art of creating a movie...we're in it to tell the story because it's that powerful. We believe that when people hear this story it will change them. I've told Ron's story a few times and every time amazing things have happened. Even the camera crews that heard it donated their time or money to the project! The only problems with telling this story is that films are expensive! Our hope is that you can help us out. Anything you can give to this project goes straight to the people making the project and anything above and beyond will go to Ron and his work in Guatemala. Any proceeds or money generated from this project will go to Manos De Jesus to help the work in Guatemala. Simply put, we're making this movie to help Ron. We need you to help us tell this story and bring it to the world! Anything you can give will help.
