Accepted at the Proyecto Ace Printmaking Residency to create performances involving my hand print/cut paper costumes and props.
I have been invited by the Proyecto Ace Printmaking Residency Program in Buenos Aires to create with their assistance my proposed project "The Wild People", a performance & photography series involving costumes and sets made from my hand printed, hand cut paper. I am very honored and excited about this opportunity and eager to officially accept the invitation given that I raise my funding goal through the generous support of my friends, family, colleagues, and fellow artists!
**In gratitude of your support, I will be offering my art as gifts to the backers of this project. Basically, I am exchanging the art that I have made and the art that I will be making for the opportunity to begin a completely new body of work!
The funds I am raising through Kickstarter will help in covering the costs of the Intensive Production Residency Program ($3,550) which includes 25 days lodging (Dec. 10, 2012-Jan. 3, 2013), studio space, access to the print shop equipment, professional assistance, and materials. In the chance that I exceed this goal, the additional funds will be directed towards the cost of airfare ($1,500). Please back my project and pledge what you can. It is quick and easy, and your payment will not be processed unless the actual goal is met. If the funding goal is met, I will be forever grateful for the part you played in making all of this possible and you will have a unique piece of art to add to your collection!

Creating a performance piece beginning to end involves many steps: finding volunteers to participate, attaining access to a public location, and creating the costumes, props, and set. Though I have had experience in creating similar performance and interactive pieces, I plan on creating this piece within one month and on a larger scale, which is an even greater challenge. The Printmaking Residency at Proyecto Ace will provide me with the location, material, and assistance I will need to complete all of these steps within this short time frame.
