Married to Ann 1964, two children (Scott, Danielle), four grandchildren.
1960-66 active in Philadelphia and NYC as pianist, session player, arranger, composer; 1966-1970 Music Director of Performing Arts, Bennett College; Music Director HEW Project Upward Bound, Dutchess County, NY; 1970-2006 Music Director, Performing Arts Chair, Harvaard-Westlake School in Los Angeles; member Local 47 Musicians Union, Society of Arrangers, MENC, Jazz Educators, Film Music Society, ASCAP. Los Angeles keyboardist, arranger, orchestrator, conductor, composer, teacher, clinician.Students include many qwell-known composers and performers, teachers in conservatories. Retired to rural Virginia 2006, very active as composer, conductor, orchestrator and performer in symphony, chamber music, jazz, music theater, etc. Jerry and his beautiful wife and 'muse' Ann live in Boones Mill with their wheaten terrier "Brendan." Margolis has his music studio on the lower floor of their house which is adjacent to the Blue Ridge Mountains and a farm.
