Why is May Weather doing this?

One of the biggest criticisms of May Weather that we have heard is what we play live never translates to the recordings.  For example, here's how Look Out! That Man Has a Tornado! used to sound:

Not so great. We tried many times recording and re-recording in Ross's basement but could never be satisfied with what we could personally produce. So, in June of 2012, we pulled together all the money we could and went into the studio and recorded a four track EP entitled, "This is Almost an Album."  We were blown away by the quality and so were the many fans that purchased it.  We are finally proud to put our name on our recordings. Through the miracle of modern technology, here's how Tornado sounds now from our brand new EP, "This is Almost an Album":

Now isn't that much better?! But we cannot stop there! May Weather has tons of other tracks we'd like to record in the studio, but we need your help to do it. With your donations and sponsorships, we will begin working on recording and producing our first full length album!

So, what can I do to help?

Here's where you come in.  Recording is expensive....REALLY expensive. So is touring, buying merch, etc. Up til now we've gotten by, but taking May Weather to the next level is going to need some serious help.  By donating to us, you're not just shelling out money that we'll pocket or waste, you're helping May Weather move forward and make a name for ourselves.  Check out the descriptions for each level of donation to find out what great rewards you'll get in return for your donation. It is our way of showing our gratitude for your generous donation! You can get every thing from stickers, shirts, private concerts, to a hand made guitar effects pedal! 

That sounds great! But what are these "Sponsorships?"

This option was intended to be a way for us to help out our comrades in the business as well. If you are a band, a booking agency, venue, or even a small or large business, the sponsorship option is perfect for you! Here's how the levels break down:

This option is also great for anyone that would like to donate but doesn't necessarily want a reward from it.

What if I want to donate more than what my reward costs?

That's easy! Each donation amount is only the minimum required to get the donation. When you choose your donation, simply follow the instructions on how to change the donation amount. There you can donate as much as your heart desires! Remember though, you can only pick one donation so choose wisely. If you want more than one reward, you'll have to create separate Kickstarter accounts.

I love May Weather, but I'm just as broke as they are. What could I possibly do to help??

Our fans mean the world to us. Over the years, we have made so many friends and built countless relationships with so many people. You're love, support, passion and excitement for us and our music is honestly overwhelming and surreal at times.  That is what truly keeps us going. However, don't think that a donation of only $1 or $5 isn't going to help us. Think about this, if we ONLY sold out a regular order of 1000 stickers, we would have doubled the amount we're asking for! Please don't think that your donation doesn't count because it does! To prove that, EVERY person that donates to this kickstarter is going to get their name in our album as a thanks to you. We cannot make this album without you so we want to make it not just May Weather's album, but everyone's album!

OK, I'm ready to donate...what do I do?

That's great! Read through each reward carefully and choose which option is best for you. Then click on the reward and follow the instructions to complete the donation. Once the Kickstarter is over, and if we completely fund the project, we'll send out surveys asking for your information. From there we'll ship out all the rewards, start working on the sponsorship pages, and setting up private concerts! 

Wait, I just heard that if the project isn't successful, May Weather won't get any money. Well what happens to my money??

In the very disappointing case that we do not reach our goal, it is true, we will not receive any funds.  So, it's all or nothing! But don't worry, if we don't meet our goal, you will never be charged anything and it will be as if it never happened. On a brighter note, we are allowed to go over the amount we're asking and we hope we do! The more money we can raise, the more merch we can get, the more shows we can play, and maybe even buy a trailer! It's all up to you guys to help!
