Update #3: All good things must end...so let's party like its 1959!
Dearest Kickstarter Backers,
Thank you for backing our project! The last 6 months of presenting The Beebo Brinker Lesbian Pulp Festival has been amazing! The most recent adventure has been to perform the play, The Beebo Brinker Chronicles. Our audiences have loved the show, we've performed 12 shows so far and all of them to packed houses. This is just some of what our audiences have had to say:
"Brilliant! ... flawless cast ..." - Ann Bannon, the author, and of Queen of Lesbian Pulp
"Fresh, relevant and beautifully handled by an expert cast. EXQUISITE!" -Waxie Moon
"a hot and sexy piece of dramatic camp." - ScarletCurtain
"...genuine and quite touching ..." _SeattleActor.com
"the sizzling hot play of the fall!" -Seattle Gay Scene
"director Katjana Vadeboncoeur explores the raw heartbreak beneath the veneer of mannered period flourish and pinup glamour nostalgia." -Seattle Gay Scene
"This play is so shocking and intense and jaw dropping. Holy crap, if you're gay or know someone who's LGBTQI etc. Go see it!!!"
- burlesque/bellydance star Fuchsia Foxxx
We only have 4 more performances of the play this weekend (October 6, 7, 8, and 9) and then the whole festival is a WRAP. To that end, we want to invite you to celebrate the amazing success of this project.

Update #2: WE NEED INFO FROM YOU! Plus a project update & pics :)
*** PLEASE FORGIVE MULTIPLE EMAILS IN ONE DAY! The Kickstarter website is being a little wonky and isn't allowing us to individually message every person who donated to our successful fundraising campaign. However, we want to honor your generosity appropriately. If you donated enough money to receive a postcard, poster, PLAY ticket, or book, please send us a message here on Kickstarter ASAP because we need to know...
-If you're eligible to receive tickets to the play AND you want to attend the play, please tell us which night you want to attend. We need to create a guest list of all for all shows by opening night, so please give us this info by this Wednesday the 14th at 5pm at the latest.
-If you're eligible to receive a postcard, poster, or book, please reply to us letting us know your name and full mailing address.
You can message us here on Kickstarter.
THANK YOU! ***
Now for a fun project update...
We're embarking on the final leg of our journey together and THIS weekend will be EPIC. We're opening the Seattle Premier of the play, The Beebo Brinker Chronicles which will run every Thursday-Sunday from September 15-October 9 at ReBar. Tickets are on sale now at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/184155
Especially thrilling is the fact that ANN BANNON will be with us THIS THURSDAY on opening night...and it's her BIRTHDAY! Please join us to honor the legendary "Queen of Lesbian Pulp Fiction"! Be part of the "Ann Bannon Birthday Circle" so you can sit in the front row with Ann and even be treated to a celebratory birthday cupcake. These tickets are an additional $5 payable only at the door.
To wet your appetite for this award winning play, we've attached sneak-peak-photos of our incredibly sexy cast in rehearsal. Also attached, is a photo of Le Frock Vintage's window display honoring our play! Stop by their capital hill store to see it for yourself.
See you this weekend!

Update #1: Beebo Brinker's Wild August Ride & Fundraising Update (photos)
WHOA! What a wild ride it’s been for the producers, cast, and crew of the Beebo Brinker Pulp Cabarets for the past few weeks. We’ve been the most industrious little pulp pinup show that ever was!
We kicked off the fun with some…err…non-traditional promotion of our cabaret at ACT Theatre on August 18, 19, and 20. Yes, we did all the typical stuff too: posters, postcards, press releases, newspaper interviews, Facebook posts, emails to supporters, and etc. But what says, “Come learn all the dirty secrets of 1950s Greenwich Village” better that live, pin-up models acting out those secrets in ACT Theatre’s 7th Avenue windows??? Yes! The Beebo Brinker Pinups were living window displays!
Next on our fabulous itinerary was a week worth of technical and dress rehearsals at ACT Theatre to prepare for the opening of our show. Our producers, cast, and crew worked hard and long into each sultry night to get every lighting cue, every musical note, and every dance step juuuuuuuuuuust right. Our intense preparation allowed us to align the show as flawlessly as the seam up the back of a pinup models stocking – meow!
We added the cherry on top of our ACT Theatre promotions by hosting a wine and cheese reception complete with a Q&A and book signing by none other than the “Queen of Lesbian Pulp Fiction”, MISS ANN BANNON herself! Ann was an absolute delight, answering questions about queer life in the 50s, the role pulps served in the lives of lesbians, and the ways perceptions and attitudes have changes around gender roles and expression in the last several decades.
The end result? The Beebo Brinker Pulp Cabarets SOLD OUT a three night engagement at ACT Theatre on August 25, 26, and 27th to the degree that there were people lined up down the block and those patrons who couldn’t get a seat bought standing-room-only tickets. The intensely sexy buzz the audience brought in the theater each night fueled our performers and gave their flawlessly constructed acts so much energy that the shows attained a certain je ne sais quoi, a palpable exchange of energy that is the unique alchemy between audience and performers when everyone in the theater is thoroughly invested, engaged, and LOVING the moment. It was truly magical!
But here is no rest for the wickedly creative…
Hot off the heels our SOLD OUT engagement at ACT Theatre, Cherry Manhattan Presents now debuts the Seattle premier of "Beebo Brinker Chronicles" the play, running September 15-October 9 at ReBar.
However, in order to fully cover the upfront expenses of producing this play, we must raise the remaining $1,376 of our overall $2200 goal here on Kickstarter. If we don’t raise all of it, we get NONE of the funds that have been raised to date. You’ve already been an artistic angel by pledging support. Thank you! Can you help us once more by posting an announce to your Facebook page or sending an email to a friend you know would love our work?
Stay tuned…there are more titillating surprises coming from us ;)
