About this project
I've been playing music for nearly my entire life. I've been writing music for 12 years and hoping to one day get some songs recorded.
This year the stars aligned and I found myself in the right place, at the right time, with the right people... and what resulted has surprised even me.
Back in June we wrote and recorded a song called Caroline. Hopefully you've heard it by now. We entered it into a contest just to see what would happen and finished out at 27 out of 140 entries. Not bad considering the fact that we were up against regionally well-known, touring bands. Beyond that, though, we just had fun doing it.
In the process, I discovered this character of Caroline and realized that a lot of the songs that I had written over the years really lent themselves to telling her story. So, I got with our producer, Wes, and ironed out a set of songs - some old, some new - to tell this story of failure and hope.
The process of recording them has been awesome in that we haven't had any real deadlines to work under and some great musicians have graciously lent their time and talents to making these ideas a reality.
We're hoping to release the album, digitally, in time for Christmas. In order to do that, we need to raise a small amount of money to pay a couple of people for their contributions and get the album to digital retailers.
