Update #11: Carrier Pigeon issue 2 release
Dear Carrier Pigeon patrons,
As we get ready for the release of issue 2 of Carrier Pigeon, I would like to thank you all again for your support in getting C.P. off the ground. Because of your pledges we were able to print the first issue and have already gotten it into over 25 stores, as well as received enough interest to fund the second issue. None of this could have been done without you! This publication has already brought together many artists of all disciplines and many arts organizations interested in helping artists.
THANK YOU ALL FOR MAKING THIS POSSIBLE!
By now you should have received the rewards promised with your pledges. If you haven't, it is probably because we don't have all your information or simple human error. Please contact Matt Barteluce at matt@carrierpigeonmag.com if there were any problems with your rewards.
And if you get a chance, come join us tomorrow for the celebration of the release of the second issue. The opening will begin at 8pm at The Sacred Gallery NYC and will be accompanied by an exhibition of art from the first four issues. Chelsea Wine Vault, Voss water and Guss Soda will provide the refreshments to make it all go smoothly. We will also be selling issue 2 at a discounted price for all attending.
If you'd like to preview the issue, take a look at the sample flip-book on the Carrier Pigeon website:

CARRIER PIGEON: Illustrated Fiction and Fine Art is proud to invite you to commemorate the release of issue no. 1 on November 19 from 7–10 p.m. at The 20/20 Gallery. An exhibition of artwork from contributors to the first three issues will be displayed, and short readings from issue no. 1 will be presented by Victor Giannini, Ben Schaeffer, Russ Spitkovsky and Christopher Darling. Wine will be provided by the Chelsea Wine Vault.
The 20/20 Gallery is located at:
323 W. 39th Street, 5th floor
New York, NY 10018
Please come out and join us for the celebration of the fall release of
Carrier Pigeon Vol. 1, issue no. 1.
Carrier Pigeon is an artist-driven, quarterly publication of illustrated fiction and fine art created to restore freedom and sincerity to commercially distributed printed matter. Each issue features six fictional stories ranging in format from prose to poetry, from short plays and monologues to science fiction and horror. Each accompanying illustrator is given the freedom to interpret the text in whatever fashion he/she sees fit, without ever seeing the results edited for the sake of appeasing any demographic. Each issue also features six fine-art portfolios: the artists may submit whatever work they choose, whether from a recent or past series or as a retrospective, and the ten-to-fifteen piece feature is accompanied by an artist-written statement. The design of the magazine is left to the discretion of the chosen designers, resulting in a magazine whose look is reinvented with each issue.
Carrier Pigeon was created by emerging and well-established artists, writers and designers to be a publication for those who want something more meaningful from an ongoing publication than the spoon-feeding of current aesthetic trends.
You can read about Carrier Pigeon and its list of more than sixty contributors; order magazines and T-shirts; and read about upcoming events at: carrierpigeonmag.com.
Best wishes,
All of the CARRIER PIGEON staff
