The Snapping Point: The Movie is a short film inspired by the dance piece The Snapping Point.
The Snapping Point tells the story of a specific family portrait, examining psychological tension through the different characters. The piece explores the mythology of fear in our culture, drawing on common images and ideas of people gone horribly wrong. The work centers around a family of inherently violent personalities, mainly a broken mother crazy with despair and her sinister children.
The Snapping Point: The Movie is a short film inspired by the performance piece created by Anne Motl and Maya Soto of NorthWest Dance Syndrome.
The movie will be filmed at Mildred's Bed and Breakfast in Seattle, WA and at a farm house in Yelm, WA.
Filmmaker/photographer Joseph Lambert will be directing and editing the film. Dancers include: Teresa Hanawalt, Karen Grady-Brown, Nadia Losonsky, Ryan Mather, Anne Motl, Michele O'Neill and Maya Soto.
