We've launched an exciting new project of our own! Introducing the Kickstarter app for iPhone!

Week One: Some Press & An Instagram Photo-A-Day

Update #1 · May 10, 2012 · comment

We've a long way to go, but we've got a great start.

Many thanks for a great first week:

- 83 people (wow!) are backing the project on Kickstarter

- The Laughing Squid, a tech/arts online publication of note, wrote about the campaign: "ArtAround SF, An App for Finding Public Art in San Francisco"  http://bit.ly/KcWxZ1

- Mission Local, one of the best local news sites out there for SF, wrote about the campaign: "What’s That Art Piece on the Wall? ArtAround Will Tell You" http://ow.ly/aMGNL

- Someone from Amsterdam wants to bring ArtAround half-way across the world

- A woman in New York volunteered to code a better submission process for art on ArtAround's GitHub repo

( ... And lots of other unexpected connections and support from around the web.)

We're trying to dream up creative ways to keep up the momentum. For instance, we're posting photos each day of SF public and street art on Instagram:

Jeremy Novy's Koi

Brian Goggin and Dorka Keehn's "Language of the Birds" on Broadway and Columbus in Chinatown

Please join us in doing this if you're up for it. We're open to other ideas, too, to keep spreading the word. Let us know if you have any.

We hope you feel, as we do, like we're in it together,

Laurenellen & Anna
