Merci bien!!

Well, again, we have all done Something For Wildness. Wow. Many many thanks to you all. The book is going to be a wonderful project and we are eager to start. The truck is packed and the notebooks, maps, GPS, cameras and tripod are loaded! We have been dreaming of hand-delivering the book to Tanzania upon completion! Maybe we shall...stay tuned for a second book on rangers worldwide!!:)

I will be contacting you all regarding rewards soon and we hope to have the first photography prints by November 2012. We have a professional account with a fantastic processing company and the results are stunning; we are very happy with the quality of their prints. The numbered, limited edition prints are shipped flat in an archival sleeve, recycled backing, in a non-bend, recycled mailer. We aim to have the book finished by early-mid 2013 and we'll let you all know the release date!

Again, thank you tremendously.

Merci bien,

Lacey Dupré and Robert Burwell

Thanks to all the incredible support from you all, we have done Something For Wildness! I am tremendously excited to be able to complete this project and I can't wait to meet so many rangers and hear their stories. Wow! It means the world to me that this project will happen! Merci bien!! Thank you so very much!!!!

-Lacey Dupré

P.S. This picture here is of a mural in New Orleans, LA.  It's a John Muir (naturalist, ecologist, writer, founder of the Sierra Club, Father of the National Park System, etc!)  portrait.  I'm packing along many of his writings on our trip.  Yeah!

60 HOURS LEFT to save Wildness, oh and the Bloopers reel ;)

Update #5 · May 7, 2012 · 3 comments

ONLY 60 HOURS LEFT! Why is the Something For Wildness Project Important?

Climate Change, exploitation of land, animals, and resources, as well as diminished habitat are all realities. Visibility and Awareness is urgent and important. Let's all DO Something for Wildness. The problem is now. We are all connected to one another and to all the beauty we see in the natural world. Awesome!

When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe.”—John Muir

So then, what have we done lately for Wildness...well, we compiled a small and silly Bloopers reel to make you smile and let our backers get to know us a bit.

We're almost at 80% funding!!! 60 hours left to go!

Tanzania, tents, Ghandi, Bloopers AND Curtians, really?

Update #4 · May 4, 2012 · comment

Why, if we are successful, does a portion of book sales go to Tanzania?

This book is making a connection between rangers WORLDWIDE. It's also an effort to give back to the many rangers the world over.

Tanzania is the birthplace of the African game ranger and the safari destination of the world. YES. A remarkable 40% of its land has been set aside for conservation. Oh, and it's home to the Serengeti National Park. The PAMS Foundation is there, supporting rangers at the forefront of conservation. Krissie Clark, the Executive Director if the PAMS Foundation, started her journey as co-founder of PAMS 'alone in a tent in a village in Southern Tanzania'. This Project is proud to recognize her, and all the rangers she has shared her passion and knowledge with.

“Be the Change you Want to see in the World' -Mahatma Ghandi

On that note: SNEAK peak into our little home on wheels! Oh yeah, the curtains are done and YES they have salvaged hot pink pom-pom fringe.

Coming NEXT: the Bloopers Reel !!!! ummhmmmmm.
