Update #17: Resent Rewards
Howdy,
I just resent the rewards for the digital downloads. Stay tuned for the 2012 CD release. At that time, I will sent the new tunes, posters, videos, lyric books, notes and more...
Until then, I am in Europe, and I have a show in Budapest on this coming Monday!!!

Update #16: "What did that Valerie June do with my money?!!!!" & Hi Everybody!
First of all, I would like to thank each of you for your continued patience in awaiting the delivery of the new music. I had a personal goal to deliver the music within a year of raising the funds, and it’s weighed very heavy on me to not have delivered upon that goal to all of you who are so important to me within that timeframe. An old friend used to always tell me to be careful for what I wish for because it is all going to come true.
I want you all to know you each have helped me to gain not only the funds to record, but also an abundance of brilliant opportunities to work with songwriters from many different styles and genres of music. It’s funny, I’ve learned songwriting can be something that takes years for one song to be completed or it can happen like magic, in the blink of an eye. Between those extremes is a vast array of balancing melodies and harmonies of musical creativity. And sometimes, if the momentum is there and the stars align just right, it’s best to capture a recording of the song at that precise and delicate moment.
Because I felt so inspired by and enthusiastic about these tunes written with these amazingly wonderful and talented folks, it became apparent one of those moments was upon me, and your generosity enabled me to seize the day and follow through in recording what I sincerely hope you’ll agree is very special music. I’m now working hard to put this all together in its finished form in the hopes of presenting each of you with these finished collaborations in the new year. I also hope you are excited to receive my lil’ ole sound as I venture to capture it over the next few months.
As a songwriter, I find that it's always refreshing to co-write with writers from every genre and spectrum of music. It enriches my craft and with every excursion I extract new seeds for my garden! I hope folks enjoy these collaborations and look forward to hearing more roots music in the future!
In the spring, I sent a download link to each backer who I promised a digital download of one of my existing recordings. If you didn’t get it, please send me a note, and I will resend the download link. You should look for a note from Mammutmail. It’s a site that allows me to send large files to folks for downloading.

Well, I know this was quite a bit to tell you all at once! Besides these writing and recording adventures, I have still been working hard by gigging from Memphis to New York to Florida & Canada. I even was blessed with the chance to entertain babies at Battery Park in NYC this week. They are the best!! They don't speak, but they love music and stories! This winter holds a host of sessions in the studio and writing along with a few overseas performances. I would love to see you out and about at any of these shows, come to NY or meet me on the road!

I am in Budapest, Hungary working right now on a show that I thought I might pass on for a long while. Three things convinced me to take the job:
1. Mazz Camlet-Swift-an amazing musician that I deeply admire
2. A source of bread for the table or in my case beans and greens
3. Excellent nearly family and friends!
