Update #11: Sneak Peak - Jeffrey Lewis on Radio Unnameable Mix CD

Posted on May 4, 2010

Listen to a sneak peak of Good Old Pig, Gone to Avalon performed live on Radio Unnameable in 2007. The studio version can be heard on Jeffrey's latest album Em Are I.

This exclusive track will be included on our Radio Unnameable Mix CD, along with many other rare goodies we are currently gathering.

Also, there are several pieces of artwork by Jeffrey Lewis still available. Help us spread the word about the project, and these great rewards, as we approach the end of the fundraiser.

Thanks!

Update #9: "Night People" and the music of Henry Flynt

Posted on April 13, 2010

A few years back we had the honor of being able to use Henry Flynt's composition "Conga" in a short film we made featuring Bob Fass called "Night People". Henry is a minimalist composer, philosopher and author of some of the best hillbilly music these ears have ever heard.

The great Locust Music in Chicago have released numerous recordings by Henry Flynt, all of them worth seeking out. And we are thrilled to include one of those, 'Nova Billy, as a reward for this fundraiser. Also thrown in is a rare and out of print poster.

Visit the Locust site to hear some of Henry's music:

http://www.locustmusic.com/index.php...

And please linger while you're there to listen to some other samplings of Locust's varied and rich catalog.

"Night People" was produced in association with Cinelan, a video publisher that produces three minute documentaries. The film features Bob Fass with listener and taxi driver John McDonagh ruminating in the wee hours of the night:

Great news! The more I know about the project and where it's at, the more I want to donate. I like the incentives, but I also love the idea that Kickstarter allows me to feel like I'm involved and that my donation is moving the process forward. The process in and of itself is interesting, makes me feel like I want to tell others, etc. etc.

Great stuff and keep it going! Think how long Bob has been at it, you guys are just getting started!

      all the best,

      steve k

Update #6: Sneak Peak - Track from Crystal Stilts MIX CD

Posted on March 18, 2010

The Crystals Stilts have just provided us with a preview of one of the tracks that will be on their homemade MIX CD, created exclusively for this fundraiser. At the time of this posting there are only 17 left. So pledge now and please tell your friends. Again, this CD is only available here!

The track is "Bad Education" by The Blue Orchids. Here's what Andy from the Crystal Stilts has to say about the song:

"The Blue Orchids were led by Martin Bramah and Una Baines when they left The Fall, after Live at the Witch Trials I believe, in a split that worked out best for both, as that was the beginning of the best Fall era and The Blue Orchids who were great, more psych influenced kind of post-punk or something. This song is a bit more mellow."

Enjoy!
