Update #10: TIME FOR A QUICK ANNOUNCEMENT
Last week we posted a link on Facebook to an Elliott Smith song entitled, " The Real Estate", which was recently uncovered and included on the 3 CD set Live From Nowhere Near You : Volume Two. The man behind this amazing album is Kevin Moyer, who has agreed to come on board as both a PRODUCER and SOUNDTRACK PRODUCER to Heaven Adores You ( an elliott smith project ). We are incredibly excited to be collaborating with Kevin on this project! Kevin's statement about his involvement on Heaven Adores You is as follows:
“I'm excited to be a part of the Heaven Adores You team as we've been whispering about this for some time now.
I remembered Nickolas's memorial piece from years ago, shortly after Elliott had passed, and as soon as I knew he was doing this new project I reached out and asked “how can I help?”… It soon became evident that we were both on the same page about wanting to make it completely about the music (only!) and a partnership was born and then later settled within a dark bar in downtown Portland.
The hope is that my involvement will help to take the effort from being a beautiful fan film a few steps further to give the audience a more intimate glimpse into his world and inner circle as he created his music - by way of inviting mutual friends and collaborators, as well as his own family, to also look at his own artistic creation process, influences, and creation.
One of the first things I did was approach Elliott’s family (both his father Gary and his mother Bunny) to ask for their blessing, which we received with the caveat that the effort delivers as promised. We also offered them final approvals on the end product, so that people will know full well and can rest assured that this whole thing is coming from the right place and will be held accountable to a standard of beauty on par with Elliott’s own body of work. In other words, without the approval from both sides of Elliott’s family this project will not be released…and honestly we wouldn’t have it any other way, anyhow.
To you, and to them, as well as to ourselves, we promise that this will NOT be an effort that explores and exploits the subversive shadows of an otherwise bright life, this will NOT be an investigation NOR an agenda piece… rather it will be a beautiful tribute and in depth look into the ART and the MUSIC and the INSPIRATION that Elliott gave many and what in turn influenced him and the way he created his own art and honed his craft, and why those of us who loved him felt so strongly.
I sincerely hope that the end product will feel like being locked in a museum unsupervised at night … in that we will be ignoring the darkness completely while jumping the ropes to get right up to the artwork for a close and introspective look.”

Update #7: tick tock tick tock 96 hours to go..
Here we are, folks. Down to the nitty gritty as they say.
Although you've already been more than amazingly supportive and awesome in helping this project reach it's funding goal, I figured I'd write an update to let you know of any last minute things that are still available through the campaign.
Most of you know that the most popular reward on the campaign has been the $50 level--which gets you the DVD and the unique fan made Figure 8 guitar pick, courtesy of our friend Mike ( check out his work here ). Of course, these were a limited reward, and there are currently 5 / 95 left. So in the off chance that you wanted them, and were considering adjusting your pledge ( UP not down, please ), here's a great opportunity to secure the DVD and the pick before the campaign closes and they become unavailable through the project. These are, once again, available at the $50 pledge.
We also wanted to let everyone know that we still have a couple spots open at the associate producer and the co-producer credit levels. Some of you have been generous enough to come in at the associate producer level already. The more the merrier! If anyone was considering coming on board at the co-producer credit level, there are currently 2 spots left. We'd love them to be claimed before the campaign ends. As you know, the project is fully FUNDED at this point, so it's going to happen. Here is your chance to come in at a co-producer level to a project that's already been successfully funded by almost 200 people.
So, that's it for now, I suppose. Our doors are still open until next Tuesday afternoon. Keep spreading the word and keep telling your friends. We've gotten amazing press these past few weeks and the number of fans on the FB page keeps growing everyday. We are so excited to be making this film. Thanks for your support!

It's often said that, " we couldn't have done it without you ", and in this case, it's totally spot on. This project has finally gathered the legs it's needed to start it's journey, and thanks to you, it's on it's way.
With 8 days left on it's campaign, you folks came through and made it happen. We are extremely thankful for your belief in this project. It's really exciting to be embarking on such a project with so many of you to thank for your generous pledges. It must be a blessing of some kind to start a project about Elliott with so many of his fans at our side. Between the generous press, the re-posting of the trailer and Kickstarter page, the sharing on ALL of your Facebook pages, the posting on your Tumblr accounts, the tweets--you have ALL collectively pushed this fundraising to a success. And guess what?
We're not done yet.
We're going to continue to push for the remaining 8 days. So, if you talk to someone and they think they missed out because we made our goal, please assure them that we're still taking pledges until next tuesday and we welcome their support.
Until then, THANK YOU for coming through and for all of your work in helping this project go. We'll be updating again before the campaign closes with news as it develops. 'Cause at this point, it's all going to be awesome.

And there is such a sense of love and respect with this project, especially in working with and securing the blessings of his family - that is an integral piece that cannot be omitted.
