We’ve got something great here. Though we missed our goal, CustomCTRL is on the right track. Over the past two months, we’ve connected with many truly amazing people. Through your backing, suggestions, talents and relationships we are now capable of going far beyond the vision of the first attempt. Starting with the best of what we’ve done, we are aiming higher for an ambitious second version.

Simple Setup
Plug in and you're up. Relay messages home from the Cloud and back to your Smartphone. Give apps the ability to control devices from Lights and TVs to Thermostats.
Customize Remotes
Use your smartphone as a super remote for your entertainment system. Browse remote layouts, customize and share your designs. You can even teach your current remote new tricks - give an unused button the ability to turn off the lights before the movie starts.
On Your Way or a Wakeup Call
Turn on your lights on your way home. Use the alarm app to wake up to your thermostat warming your room a few degrees and your lights gradually coming on. Grab a file you've left a home by remotely turning on your computer.
Open Everything, API and Arduino
For programmers, if you want to spin your own app, our cloud service and example code is available.
Since CustomCTRL is based on Arduino, you can use the controller to give an existing project a professional look with new capabilities and remote access. In the spirit of Arduino, all of the hardware and device software will be released open source.
Green Potential
Using a tiny fraction of the power of an incandescent light bulb and doing the heavy computing in the cloud, this device has some serious green potential. Turn off lights from bed without the effort. Use only the energy you need, when you need it.
Home Automation Protocols
The device can learn and send IR signals like a regular remote. Different attachment options let it speak to four of the most common types of home automation devices (Insteon, X10, Z-wave and XBee).
