Become a Board Game God!
Reiner Knizia, James Earnest, Klaus Teuber, Alan R. Moon, Andrea Angiolino, Paolo Parente - to hardcore Strategy Board Gamers, these are the names of some of their Board Game Gods. Aspiring game designers hope to some day have their names discussed by gamers with the same awe and reverence that these name engender. Until now, this task was a monumental labor. Now there is a new path to the Olympian Heights of an immortal of game design - Board Game God!
Board Game God is a board game development workshop to be held at Phoenix Vul-Con 2012, a Strategy Gaming Convention held on February 25th and 26th 2012 at the Phoenix Convention Center. Participants will come to the workshop with a board game concept, pitch the concept to our panel of industry professionals - who will be their coaches throughout the workshop and the judges of the best boardgame produced at the workshop - then complete initial development on their game using only the components provided to them at the workshop. Their games will then be playtested, playtesters will confer with the coaches, the coaches will provide feedback and suggestions for improvements, and the participants will refine their games. Further playtesting and refinements will ultimately culminate in the coaches/judges choosing the best game of the workshop. The winning game will be produced and given to certain Tiers of Backers. A DVD will also be produced, which will contain a brief documentary of the competition in the style of Reality TV. This DVD will also be provided to certain Tiers of Backers and will be produced by the up-and-coming video studio New Mutiny Media (currently working on the "Road to Vul-Con" documentary).

Celestial Tier - Same as the Prophet Tier, but you'll actually have a brief cameo on the "reality show" DVD and your credit in the rulebook and video credits will be upgraded to Producer. Plus you'll be listed as a producer on the back of the game packaging (box or more creative packaging).

Vul-Con is an organization that was founded to foster and grow the Strategy Gaming Hobby and the Community of Hobbyists. Our goal is to provide top notch Strategy Gaming Conventions, Mini-Cons, and Charity Events. Our main event, Phoenix Vul-Con 2012 is quite simply the Southwest’s Coliseum of Strategy Gaming. There will be more to see, to do, tournaments, scheduled gaming, open gaming, premium events, cool merchants, guests, workshops, and immersion in gaming than even our 30,000 sq. ft. of Strategy Gaming Convention Space promises. Part of the spectacle is our oversized Ludi Vulcani - Roman Themed Games on a large scale. You'll also find us out supporting other Conventions and Charity Events (like NOTACON in Tucson) by dragging out our Ludi Vulcani or running some game from one of our sponsors.
