Being a backer: The gift that keeps on giving.
It has been nigh on nine months, since you have helped me with my Kickstarter campaign. And I continue to do exhibitions with the prints that you helped me print and mount and do book signings with the books.
Out here in the Desert, the season normally runs from October through end of April, early May before it starts getting way too hot and most people leave when they can or become a/c huggers and live indoors. It is true what they say about frying an egg on the concrete. So a lot of different things are happening in April all around the valleys and I am happy to be part of a couple of these events.

The first weekend is the Indian Wells Arts Festival. It runs from Friday, 5th April to Sunday, the 7th 10am-5pm and is located at the Tennis Gardens in Indian Wells. It is quite the prestigious art event and I am very happy that I was asked to join. They will have an exhibit which will focus on the, surprise, Salton Sea, and there will be other artists as well.

Starting 17th May, 2013 through mid-September, 2013, I will be showing at the La Quinta Museum in La Quinta alongside other Salton Sea artifacts and old photographs (see, this exhibitions is indoors). The reception will be on the 17th, though the time has not yet been confirmed. Previously in 2010, I had an exhibition there, showcasing photographs taken between 2008 and 2009.

Of course being so far away as most of you are, I can only assume you won't be able to come out. Please do pass on to anyone you know who lives in the area.
During the coming summer months when things will start to quiet down a bit, I will be looking for exhibition spaces further afield, i.e. all over the US and worldwide and getting in touch with galleries/museums that match my vision of showcasing environmental photography. If you have any recommendations for galleries or museums or alternative spaces, please do get in touch. I also am continuously on the look out for independent book shops to visit and do book signings for, or any organisation that may be interested in a presentation about this project or any aspect thereof.
I wish you all the best and thank you again for supporting me in my endeavor!
Happy almost April Fools Day to you.
Christina
