Update #5: Meet The Librettist - Dominic Orlando
When Beautiful Creatures composer, Jennifer Griffith, asked her fellow artist residents at The MacDowell Colony if any were writers and Dominic Orlando responded, in no way could she imagine the lasting artistic partnership that was starting. This is a doozy of a story that Dominic has spun with words and Jennifer with music! What a team these two make!!!
We at Stage|Time are frankly stoked by his work, and can't wait for the world to hear Dominic's powerful evocative modern funny libretto.
A former McKnight Fellow, Dominic was awarded his second Jerome Fellowship in 2009, and was commissioned by Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Nautilus Music-Theater, Teatro del Pueblo, BVT Children’s Theatre, The Red Eye Collaboration, and Actor’s Theatre of Louisville. Please have a look at his full BIO at The Playwright's Center and consider making a pledge to help this opera toward full production. Any amount is a vote of confidence for the performing arts in general and for the power of the operatic form.
