Get out of the closet and do it on the kitchen table.
At dinner that final night, I talked about the lack of design in some of these sets we sold.
Paul threw out some suggestions for chess sets. "What about a computer chip chess set. We could glue chips into the shape of a horse."
Usually he has great ideas.
We went back and forth on how we carried literally every themed chess set out there, for good or bad. Then I said it.
I still remember staring at that salt shaker in my hand, seeing then what you see now.
Eight short years plus later, you see some of the fruits of my labor.
The ideas for the other sets came along courtesy of a second date, with my now wife. During dinner I told her of my idea and Kim asked," Where did I come up with this idea?"
"Just off the top of my head."
The ideas came almost too fast to write down.
Later, that one became "Heavy is the head that wears the crown."
Let me know which you like better.
I don't want to make one chess set. I have more than a dozen ideas and designs, and quite a few for checkers and backgammon and cribbage ideas as well .
What will I do with the money you ask?
When I reach my funding goal, it will be approximately 3 months before the rewards get shipped. Mostly because the CNC router have a 4 week lead time.
If you live outside the U.S. I respectfully ask that you add $25 for international shipping.
Don't forget to check out the work of the artist bringing what's in my head to life.
