Update #13: One Year Update
It's been one year since Gay Bowl X in Phoenix, and while a filmmaking process like this is a slow and grueling one, we remain as resolute and positive as ever.
In the last year we have all grown tremendously. Partly from having to resolve every technical challenge under the sun, and partly from the adversity we've faced through the film grant process. While we have yet to receive funding beyond our original Kickstarter campaign, we are putting the finishing touches on a new fundraising package that will accompany the 5 minute cut, linked below. The lack of funding remains a hurdle but we're not the first to face it, and while it slows our progress it doesn't stop it. We know we started this for a reason and we will see it through, whatever it takes. This 5 minute extended trailer is being designed for a distribution company with interest in the project. It's crafted for an audience unaware of the subject matter so the "gay part" is the reveal.
As Gay Bowl XI launches today in Houston, we hope this cut offers a small measure of inspiration to the athletes who so greatly inspired us last year. As always, please spread the word and ask as many of your friends to join the facebook wall as possible. Not only is it great for us when festivals and distributors see our fan numbers, but it also keeps us motivated to know people are watching and invested in our efforts, no matter how many times they ask us, "When's the movie coming out?!"
With much love,
Seth, Alex, Karina and the rest of the Flag Football The Movie Family

Update #12: 1,000 and climbing!
Roughly a month ago, we started a grass-roots campaign to get to 1,000 fans on our facebook wall by July 1st, http://www.facebook.com/pages/Flag-Football-The-Movie/168826356483024?v=wall. Yesterday, coincidentally enough on Flag Day, we crossed that threshold and are continuing to climb.
We've now officially gone into outreach partnerships with The National Gay Flag Football League. Outsports.com, who was instrumental in helping us get to 1,000 fans. Compete, The Gay Sports Magazine, and Out Of Bounds-NYC, Champions of the LGBT sports community in New York City. We have also gone into a financial partnership with Auburn Films, who will use their 501(c)3 status to allow us to raise finishing funds through tax deductible donations.
While the editing process is a slow one, we have already received interest from two gay film festivals and MTV films. All signs point to great interest in the project which renews our passion daily.
More to come, and thank you as always for your support,
Seth, Alex, Karina, and the rest of the Flag Football The Movie family.

Update #9: 2010 ends with a big Win!
In beautiful symbolism, this round of fundraising ended yesterday with 2010 and we ended $700 beyond our $10,000 goal. We're now in the process of ordering our editing system and plan to be up to our necks in rendering, transferring and cutting by the 2nd week of January.
Really exciting things ahead and the support as been overwhelming. We're doing something special here and you're all a part of it.

A graduate of UCLA's school of Theatre Film and Television, Seth would be the first to tell you he's lived a theatrical life. Growing up at the heart of New York's musical theatre scene, he was bitten early on trips to the theatre with his father. He has worked in every aspect of show business since, from usher to actor to director. Among his favorite highlights were producing his first feature film at 22, acting with George C. Scott in the off-Broadway hit "Wrong Turn at Lungfish", and producing "9 to 5 the Musical" on Broadway with Dolly Parton. He heads GFour Production's New York office and is the company's Vice President of Theatrical Development. Seth is also the National Director of "Menopause the Musical", seen by over 11 million people worldwide, and is one of the Chairmen and founding members of the Broadway Green Alliance (broadwaygreen.com), an organization committed to the greening of The Great White Way. His collective shows have been nominated for 17 Drama Desk Awards, 7 Tonys and 1 Grammy.
The trailer looks fantastic! congrats to all!.
