Hi I'm Will Laren and I make short, weird, and humorous drawings which I publish in a zine called Slurricane. If you aren't familiar with my work you can check it out here.I love making zines but recently I've felt frustrated having to water down my drawings when making Slurricane. I've either got to cram them into a size that's much smaller than I like to work in or I'm forced to forgo color in order to keep costs down. for the third issue in the series I'd like to be able to put out a really impressive finished product that are as true to my original drawings as possible.

What the plan is:

I put out a zine not too long ago called Gutter prints that was made up entirely of colorful silkscreens.It looked great but unfortunately the intense effort and cost meant I could only print a small amount of copies. In the end I had to turn a lot of people away simply because I had ran out of copies, which was frustrating to say the least. I'd like to make Slurricane III with a similar look as Gutter Prints, with bright, two or three color illustrations and a lot more pages than Gutter Prints had. to do this I'll have to either pay friends of mine to help silkscreen the massive amount of pages or I'll do a bunch of single silkscreens then scan them and have them professionally printed on newsprint so it's assured that there will be enough copies for everyone that wants one. Unfortunately both these options require a lot of money up front. By pre-ordering Slurricane III you are allowing me to put out a much more attractive and high quality project for you to enjoy than if I had fronted all the money myself and just gotten them photocopied at Kinkos. You will be spending the same amount of money for the zine, but you'll be getting a lot more for your money.

any money beyond the cost of printing the zine will go to:

• upgrading to nicer paper
• printing with more color
• making Slurricane III longer
• used for awesome extras like screen printed promotional posters and free stuff to include with the zine

What in god's name is a Southside Bart-Cat?

The Southside Bart-Cat's is a silkscreen I did of a gang jacket for a fictional gang. their mascot is a mythical beast that is half bart simpson half cat. the patches will be around the size of a DVD case so it won't be exactly like the patch in the print, but you can definitely still put it on a jacket of yours and you will look awesome.
