About this project
Books on Wheels is a Richmond, VA based non-profit organization that provides free books and free bicycle repair. Since 2007, we have donated over 40,000 books and worked on hundreds of bicycles all over the country in an attempt to promote literacy and healthy lifestyles.
Over the course of the past 6 years, Books on Wheels has operated out of 2 really amazing school buses that we very intentionally painted bright colors to draw attention and create excitement. 2 years ago, we sold our small school bus in order to downsize and boost productivity within our organization. It worked! Recently, we realized downsizing again was in need, so we sold the large school bus to a really great local organization and bought a Ford Transit Van to use for all of our Books on Wheels events. Now that the organization has become even more manageable and efficient, we are ready to decorate the van!!
This project is small but important to our organization. We would like to raise funds to buy magnets, decals, and signs to decorate the van for our Books on Wheels events in order to draw the attention of people in the neighborhoods we work in, and also to add excitement and fun to everything we do, especially for the kids we work with!
