Update #18: Grinfa Louca
It's been a long time since we last updated this page but that doesn't mean Brazilian Guitar Fuzz Bananas - The Movie isn't in full mode production. We were busy writing and gathering all the required documentation to obtain the fiscal sponsorship in Brazil, which is quite different from the applications submitted in the USA and Europe. All the footage you guys helped us produce is finally lined up for editing with most of the audio synced and soon we will be editing what will be our first cut besides the trailer and teaser. Also we now have locked the final budget and business plan. Since the conclusion of our Kickstarter campaign, many industry people have been in touch with us willing to get involved. Among them, Alex Figueira, owner of Amsterdam based label Music with Soul Records and a Brazilian Guitar Fuzz Bananas - The Movie backer, who contact us initially sharing his excitement with the inclusion of Paulo Bagunça as one of our characters .Cutting a long story short he ended up asking us to invite Paulo to come to Amsterdam and put an end on his 30 + plus years studio hiatus. So, now we are producing a new segment in our film featuring Paulo's trip to Europe to perform and record, hopefully before the end of this summer and really think this wool become a very compelling part of our film journey.
Update #17: Mission Accomplished
Yesterday in Saquarema - Rio de Janeiro at 12pm the crew of Brazilian Guitar Fuzz Bananas - The Movie, finished the shoot of this first trip to Brazil. We've met Serguei after 3 days exploring Rio de Janeiro with Joel Stones. Marisa Rossi, Zeze Motta and Paulo Bagunça were some of the artists we had the chance to spend time in this beautiful city. We also got some AMAZING footage at Morro de Santo Amaro which was an unforgettable experience. All of this after a very intense week in São Paulo where we met Fabio, Tony Bizarro, Suely, Lanny Gordin, record sellers and DJ's, Carlinhos and Tony Hits.
We will be posting some pictures and sending the posters as soon as we get back to NYC. Be sure that your collaboration will be on seen on the big screen. Thanks to our talented crew we were able to get fantastic images, sounds and precious documentary footage.
I just drove back to Curitiba (my home town) from Saquarema and still have beach sand all over my stuff. We are all exhausted but very happy.
Thanks again. See you soon,
Artur
