LYINGinBED The Play http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=312647792104244&set=vb.150151301688385&type=2&theaterLast spring, Cole Thomas wrote LYING in BED and last fall, with the help of some fellow artists, auditioned and selected most cast members.
TeeJay's resume' may seem longer than she is old, but for this Bermudian Artist/Activist, we're attaching here LinkedIn page address http://www.linkedin.com/pub/tamicka-%22teejay%22-johnson/8/837/388 so you may see for yourselves! There will also be an interview with her posted on www.CurveMag.com this month!
LYING in BED, provides stimulating "edutainment" by blending dramatic & comedic monologues & sketches into a plot about the value & challenges of truth-telling. It provides clear, accurate messages about medical & psychological matters like healthy conflict & communication between friends and partners; the prevention of Sexually Transmitted Disease, obesity-related illness and certain cancers; & the ways orientation, gender/gender presentation matter (or don't) in pursuit of love and loyalty.

Kwietha had to leave the project last fall after her mother passed away. She was able to work on another project out in Oakland and is continuing her work as an "Edutainer". For more information see http://educatingxenophobics.blogspot.com/2011/10/support-and-honor-black-farmers-of.html. We were blessed and fortunate to have THREE other amazing Directors involved with LYING in BED, TeeJay Johnson, Onyx Keesha, and Tashamee Dorsey! TeeJay, however, is Director.

Absolutely! We still need extras and understudies. As for crew, we need as many volunteers -with stage-hand experience, your own photographic & sound/lighting equipment and/or special theatrical training- as we can get our hands on. Contact Dia Mandaraz or Akemi Hunter on www.Facebook.com/LYINGinBEDaColeThomasPlay. Please indicate what your skill set looks like! Thanks a million.
