The Exhibition:

The Idea:
This project aims to create dynamic objects that interact with the body, turning craft into truly experiential art. By combining traditional techniques of making with the imaginative performances of ritual body piercing, the “art object” exceeds the limitations of seeing, and explodes into the physical realm of the senses.

The Work:
Three specific and unique experiences are being crafted and documented on film. “Rage” is the first object, that allows the user to encounter the catharsis we all long for when confronted with the powerful emotion of anger.

“Dominion” is a competitive piece, that allows players to struggle against one another, testing their own limitations, and establish dominance before an audience.

“Equilibrium” tunes into nature, channeling the vibrations and movement of the wind into the skin. It is a meditative piece that extends our existing sensory channels, allowing them to “hear” on a scale much grander than ever before. 

An ambitious collaborative project, these sculptural and performance works are being captured on film and will be packaged as an exhibition to be launched in January 2012.

The project is nearing completion, with all of the craft, material, and labor contributed by the artist.
