We did it!

With a little over 14 hours left we met the stretch goal. Can we fit in one last goal before the end tonight?

Let's see if we can make it to $1500! The extra $300 would allow me to purchase my own professional backdrop so I could avoid renting one at every show, as well as make business cards and purchase a web domain! It would break down as follows:

$200 professional backdrop
$20 business cards
$60 web domain and hosting for one year
$20 extra fees and rewards
Let's push this all the way to the last minute and see if we can make it! Thank you SO much for all the support that has already been given!

Spread the monster mania!!

As children most of us had vivid imaginations, believing in monsters under the bed and thinking that maybe those mythical creatures like dragons and unicorns could have once existed... Then we grew up.  Well, some of us.

Not me! I've always been a kind of "art geek", ever since I was a little girl.  My hobbies range from crocheting, to drawing, sewing and even some sculpting.  I went to college for pastry arts, but it always killed me to eat the things I created. 

 Fast forward a few years and now I'm a stay at home mom of a two year old boy and twin infant girls - and I have the best job ever, taking care of them every day, as well as the time to do what I'm most passionate about (besides raise my own little monsters).

I make entirely hand-sewn plush monsters.  I sketch out the designs (and I have a TON of them), create the patterns from scratch and sew the plushies entirely myself.  Currently, I have a small business called geekyGAMERgirl on Etsy.  I also run a geekyGAMERgirl Blogger, YouTube channel, and Facebook page.  Needless to say, doing this as well as creating the monsters and taking care of my three kids makes my time pretty valuable.  This is where you come in!

And the money goes to...

I need a bit of help keeping my dream alive.  My business is gaining popularity, but I can't expand my line of plushies quickly enough.  I need to stock up on materials, and I need to invest in a sewing machine.  Currently it takes about 4 to 6 hours to create ONE monster.  If I had a sewing machine that time could easily be cut down to just one to two hours.  Don't worry - adding a sewing machine will definitely NOT take away from the monsters' uniqueness! The faces and finishing touches will always be done by hand. 

Here's the breakdown:

$250 sewing machine and maintenance

$150 materials

$100 rewards/fees

Anything given over the $500 goal will go towards more materials, and production of new plush monster designs.
