About Us:

  We are two aspiring potters who recently moved into a live/work space for artists in Patchogue, New York. The building opened a little over a year ago and we've been working with other resident artists to organize ourselves and come together to create and promote our art. Residents include visual artists, musicians and writers. We are dedicated to creating a supportive, creative live/work environment and participating in the thriving arts community in Patchogue.

  Our building has a common area that we are turning into a studio. We believe that a shared workspace will foster creativity and productivity among residents, while also building a more intimate community. Working in a shared space will allow us to learn informally from each other. Artists will be able to work on individual projects as well as collaborations. In the future we hope to provide workshops and classes out of this space that encourage public awareness, participation, and appreciation of the arts in our community. 

  We are still in the beginning stages, so our current objective is to equip the workspace with 2 ceramics wheels, lots of clay, large work tables, and shelving racks.

How do you make a pledge?

To make a pledge to Real Wheel!, click the green “Back This Project” button at the top right of this page. You will be asked to create a quick username through Kickstarter, pick your pledge amount, and select a reward. From there, you will go through the Amazon checkout process. Note that you must finish the Amazon checkout for your pledge to be completed. If you don't have an Amazon Payments account, it only takes a second to open one. It's all or nothing funding, so you will ONLY be charged for your pledge if we reach the goal of $5000 by Saturday May 19th.

Can we exceed the goal?

YES! Exceeding the goal would allow us to purchase more inventory for our community studio. Kickstarter will allow as much money as is given before the deadline. We have set the goal at the minimum -- so if we are able to exceed it, it would be a dream come true.

What happens if the money isn’t raised in time?

Your pledge of $1 or more is greatly appreciated since Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing endeavor. Every Kickstarter project must be fully funded before its time expires. If the goal isn’t met before the deadline, no money changes hands and no wheels or building materials will be purchased. We want to avoid this scenario at all costs!

Can you pay with a check? Send cash by mail?

Sorry, Kickstarter only supports credit card payments.

Can you increase your pledge once it’s been made?

YES! Once you donate to Real Wheel!, you may want to change your incentive reward to a different one, or increase your pledge amount. To do so, go to Kickstarter and sign in. If you go to Real Wheel!'s campaign page, the green “Back This Project” button has been replaced with a blue “Manage Your Donation” button. Click it and you can enter a new amount, or choose a new incentive.

Are pledges tax deductible?

Sorry, pledges are not tax exempt because we do not have 501c3 status.

Can you gift a reward?

YES! That’s a great idea! If you would like to donate to Real Wheel!, but want to give your reward to someone as a gift, just go through the process of making a donation in your name. For billing purposes, the donation must be in your name. After our deadline, we will send a message to you on Kickstarter. (It will be forwarded to the email address you provided.) We will request the recipient's name and address from you at that time. Please reply with the recipient’s information, and we will make sure they receive the reward.

You're not in the US. Can you still pledge to Real Wheel!?

Yes! You can pledge from anywhere! However, please email us regarding international shipping terms for rewards.

If you make a pledge, when is your card charged?

If this project is successfully funded, your card will be charged when we reach the funding deadline. If the project does not reach its funding goal, your card is never charged. That's why they are called pledges.
