Never Enough Hope returns to the studio to make a new record!
The Gigantic Band returns! We are thrilled that Never Enough Hope has the opportunity to play and record together again. Toby has written a new record's worth (maybe two...) of material and the players have marked the dates in their calendars.
We'll be gathering in Chicago in June, rather than our usual February. Toby has honed his conducting and enlisted notation software program; no more handwritten charts! The record's title is decided: "the Gravity of Our Commitment." The cover art, featuring an epic struggle between horned and non-horned beasts is in the works (Bearnicorn and Kittens, this time). We've got friends lined up to feed the band. We even have a producer lined up to help tackle the logistic issues during the session and help keep everyone's spirits up.
Most importantly, we've committed to spending a more reasonable amount of time in the studio to capture the band's sound. The last record was recorded in one hurried day. Really, in eight hurried hours-some of the band had to leave for the airport before we were done recording. This time around we'll be rehearsing for one day at the venerable Electrical Audio, then we'll spend two days tracking.
Rehearsing at the studio has two advantages; first, it allows the engineer to have a full day to get sounds, choose microphones and move musicians around in the space. Second - although it feels extravagant to spend the day at the recording studio not recording- the cost to use Electrical for the day is less than that of an hourly rehearsal room of adequate size to house the band.
We turn to Kickstarter- and via Kickstarter, you- to help cover the costs for the rehearsal, recording, mixing and mastering of the record; the room, the engineer, the producer.
The material is all written, tucked away in the computer (and backed up online.) The musicians, studio, engineer and producer are all confirmed. This music means a lot to us, and it means a lot to us that you would consider helping us get the music into the people's ears.
Thank you.
