                Care about your country?  Complain about the current state of affairs?  Do something.  Vote!  Wear a T-shirt showing your commitment at the same time.

                Our votes are our voice, but in the 2008 election, only 53% of 18 to 34 year-olds voted, while more than seventy percent of people over the age of 65 voted.  Young people are outnumbered at the polls, and we have no excuse.  We’re allowing today’s issues to be decided by our parents and grandparents.

                For 2010—and any non-presidential election—the numbers are worse.  Only 27% of 18 to 34 year-olds voted back in 2010, while the over 65s had 60.8% of their population turn up to a voting booth.  Check out the statistics.  It’s embarrassing.

Modern communication methods make it astoundingly easy to spread a message, yet we still need to capitalize on the voice we have gained.  Elections can only continue to be purchased if we allow it to occur.  Let’s do something about it.  Let’s brighten our future.

This project is about more young people voting, choosing our national and local politicians based on the issues that concern us.   So, let’s make sure everybody we talk to knows how important it is to register to vote and show up at the election booth in November.

Summer’s here.  You need a new T-shirt.  Wear one that reminds you, your friends, and anybody else who sees you of their responsibility to voice their concerns and participate in our nation’s politics during the upcoming election.
