Help produce James Carter's "Feeder: A Love Story" in March 2011. Put your support behind this gentle play about an extreme subject.

We made our $10K goal, but here's the deal - you can STILL donate, and we still need your help. It costs $15K to rent the theater, and we'd love to really blow this campaign out of the water by raising an additional $5K! If you haven't donated, there's still time. It costs a lot more than $10K to produce a play. Help make it happen!

****

In March 2011, terraNOVA Collective will produce James Carter's play "Feeder: A Love Story." This version of the play is vastly different than the workshops presented in terraNOVA's Groundbreakers Playwrights Program and at the 2008 undergroundzero festival. To all of you who have seen previous drafts, we are extremely excited to present the full production! For those of you haven't, please support us so you can discover this heartwarming play in March.

“Feeder: A Love Story” is a gentle play about an extreme subject. Jesse consumes 33,000 calories per day. Noel is her Feeder. Both share in a world of passion, love and food. What happens when one partner outgrows the other?

This unique, trans-disciplinary theatrical event, incorporates live video from a web camera and computer on stage, viral Internet video blogging (vloging), and interactive computer terminals for the audience to join the world of the play. In a departure from traditional theatrical storytelling, "Feeder: A Love Story" explores the parallels between media and personal interaction, creating a highly technological event grounded in a very human story.

The world premiere is helmed by 2009-11 NEA/TCG Career Development Program for Directors recipient, José Zayas. The characters of Jesse and Noel will be played by terraNOVA's Artistic Director, Jennifer Conley Darling, and Alfredo Narciso, respectively.

The Feeder Design Team is:
COSTUMES - Suzanne Chesney (Blue Before Morning, Close Ties)
SCENIC - Laura Jellinek (Buddy Cop 2, The Really Big One)
GRAPHIC DESIGN - Christy Briggs (Ensemble Studio Theatre, Women's Project, terraNOVA Collective)

As more developments occur, we'll be updating this site. We'll be announcing the venue and other design team members over the coming weeks. We need your help to pay all of these fantastic people and also help build the set, create the video, build the costumes and make it a monumental event!

Help us make this beautiful play come to life!
