Dead, P.I. is about two private investigators, but one of the partners is dead. He still helps the living partner on various cases.
THE STORY.
Dead, P.I. is a story about two partners who are private investigators, Jack Sparlow and Joe Jacobs. Joe Jacobs is dead. He has recently been murdered but neither Jack or Joe know who the murderer is. Joe is still hanging around the physical world and is able to communicate with Jack. He also is able to help out with their various cases and because of his newly acquired abilities, such as floating through walls and speaking with the dead, they are able to pick up on clues that they never would have been able to before. This has made Jack a lot more popular with the police department since they now call him to look at cases that they can't solve themselves.
The comic follows Jack and Joe as they take on new cases, either hired by individuals or referred to by the police. Although they are continuing in their work, they are always on the lookout for any clues that would help them discover Joe's murderer.
The book will be primarily in black and white with tones of red scattered throughout.
WHO'S INVOLVED?
I wrote the script and have hired an amazing artist, Jeff Edwards to illustrate the book.
WHAT'S THE MONEY FOR?
The money raised will primarily be used for two things. The first is to pay Jeff to finish the first issue. We have 6 finished pages so far and the covers. We need to finish the remaining pages. The rest will be used for printing the book. Anything beyond that will be used to start on issue #2.
WHAT DO I GET?
The rewards range from an electronic version of the book to original art and even yourself as a character in the book. We will have a Kickstarter special edition of the first issue which will have a bunch of extras, including preliminary sketches by Jeff as we were bouncing ideas back and forth and the entire script. There will also be a variant cover for the special edition and Jeff was gracious enough to give away the original art used for this as one of the incentives. The image for that is below.
