About this project

The mission of the Still Waters Street Theatre Project is to express the voice of the Millennial Generation: who we are, what we believe in, what we are willing to fight for, and what we are willing to let slip by.  A generation shaped by the advent of Myspace, Facebook, blogging, and twitter we find ourselves surrounded by a wealth of opportunity to communicate.  Suddenly supporting a cause is as easy as hitting a “like” button and just as easy to forget.  Where generations before us had to step onto the streets to express their voice ours does it from the safety of a computer keyboard.  Our voices merge into the deceptively still waters of our generation.

The purpose of the Still Waters Street Theatre Project is to explore the depths of this generation in the public forum of the streets of the Bay Area through original works created by the voices of this generation.  We have three great shows by three great playwrights:

 No Sleeping by Kevin Sheehan

Right Hand of God by Kirk Shimano

 Parnassus, Disintegrating by Alona Bach

These three shows will be performed in a series over three days at three different locations on the streets of San Francisco and Berkeley.

Your generous donations will go towards rehearsal space, props, and costumes for these three productions.  They will also go towards another goal of the Still Waters Street Theatre Project, which is to provide monetary support for the artistic endeavors of the new generation of theatre artists.  As part of this effort each of the playwrights will receive a small commission fee and the actors will each receive a travel stipend.  We hope this will encourage members of the Millennial Generation to continue their efforts to create meaningful theatre.

Any donations over the goal amount will be put towards the second Still Waters Street Theatre Series coming next spring.  Thank you for your interest and your support.
