To our Kickstarter partners:
FIle2Part's aim has always been to generate the best 3D file-fixing and printer interface software available, and that is still the goal of our team. However our recent silence may have left you all wondering how things are going, so we'd like to share some of the latest progress...
Our primary focus lately has been to complete the port of version 1.2 to the Mac platform. That effort has been more time consuming than we anticipated, but the good news is we are finally very close to issuing a release. All libraries have been ported and tested, and the graphics subsystems seem to be behaving. We've printed models to layer files, as well as directly to printers over a usb-serial port. The accompanying screen shots give a sample of the dialogs and windows on the Mac platform.
Some minor debugging remains, and then we have to prepare a Mac distributable package. We hope to wrap up these loose ends within a week or two.
We greatly appreciate your patience, and your feedback, and hope this release meets your expectations.
As this new version hits the field and starts generating more buzz, we will already be hard at work coding up new features for the next release. In the pipeline are undo changes, automatic support generation, multiple parts placing and other features.
Thanks again for your support,
The File2Part team.
