We're hoping that the Kickstarter community can help us create this amazing project!
About Kickstarter: For those of you new to Kickstarter: welcome! Kickstarter's fundraising is goal-based and reward-centered: you contribute and get a prize in return.
The Catch: If we don't achieve our goal ($7500 by 11/15), we don't get ANY of the money (don't worry, if we don't get there you won't be charged). It is critical we make our goal, or we simply can't make the movie... So we need your support!
THE MOVIE! “Madrugada quebradiza: The Break of Day” is the story of a Princeton University freshman haunted by the memory of a rape she endured just a month ago at school. Home in LA for winter break, Angelica suffers severe post-traumatic stress and finds herself unable to confide in anyone. Afraid she's loosing her sanity, the confused and isolated teenager makes the difficult decision to change the course of her life.
WE NEED YOUR HELP! This film is only possible with your support. We need help funding, feeding and providing equipment for our volunteer crew and cast. This is where your support is critical!
From coffee to lights; from lunch to film processing, your support will make this movie happen.
SUCCESSES SO FAR! "The Break of Day" is the recipient of the Panavision Emerging Filmmaker Grant and a generous grant from Deluxe Laboratories. Our director has received a National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts Scholarship (2010, 2011), the Hispanic Scholarship Fund's Cheech Marin Award (2011), the Rodlofo Montes Memorial Scholarsip (2011), and the SUN Cinematography Award (2011).
