Who or what is a Chimera Productions?

Chimera Productions is one of the only non profit professional theater groups in New Jersey devoted to presenting challenging and though provoking theater to small intimate audiences in and around central New Jersey.

Our central theme is to continue to push ourselves and the audience to think more critically about theater, artistic expression and the human condition as well as be entertained all for the same cost as a night at the movies.

Why do you need funding?

For the past seven years Chimera Productions has been self funded by its founding members as well as been given generous access to performance space at severely discounted rates.  This year because of higher fuel costs, energy costs, HVAC costs . . . well basically every cost the price of our rental space has increased significantly.  We need your donations to help pay for our space costs as well as offset other expenses like costumes, props, lights etc.

Tell me more about this years show.

This years production is After Ashley by Gina Gionfriddo a terrific award winning playwright that most folks still have never heard of.  After Ashely is a challenging drama about how a adolescent deals with his mothers loss as it vaults him and his family into new found stardom in the age of reality TV and the non stop news cycle.

July 19, 20, 21 in the Robert Solley Theater at the Paul Robeson Center for the Arts in Princeton NJ 08540 (aka The Arts Council of Princeton).
