About this project
Dear friends, supporters, music lovers, piano lovers, Chopin lovers,
I am in the process of making an All-Chopin CD. Since 2010 is the 200th anniversary of Chopin's birth, I have been playing Chopin recitals all year, and now its time to put it into a recording. Since the age of nine, I have been playing and being inspired by Chopin, so this year of playing Chopin recitals and making this recording has been thoroughly enjoyable. On the Album is the Barcarolle, Fantasie-Impromptu, a Mazurka, some Nocturnes, a Ballade, some preludes and a Scherzo. Some of this music I have been playing since childhood, while other pieces I learned as recently as just a few months ago.
In the first week of August, I spent two days recording on the most beautiful Steinway in the state of the art Fraser performance space at the WGBH studios in Boston. With the help of my wonderful engineers, Joe Basile and Frank Cunningham, I would say that this CD is getting off to a great start!
Your contributions will help to defray the costs so far, which include studio rental, engineer fees and travel expenses. Any amount you give, small or large, will be a huge help in making this project happen, and anything beyond this $3,500 goal will help in the next steps of the process, which will include producing, cover design, and distribution.
