Update #4: New reward levels
Thanks to all our backers for feedback on how to improve our reward levels. We listened and are happy to say we have three new reward levels and have lowered the pledge price for one of our levels.
You can now pick up the LT version of the Audman for $65 rather than $85!
It would be very cool to have a custom Audman some backers said. We agree! We've worked out a way to deliver custom colors and logos on the front. Wow! Does your company, startup, sports team or other want an accessory or gift that others will be jealous of? We'll work with you to choose your own colors and logo. Here's an example of a few custom Audman devices that I mocked up:

The personalized logo would be great for sports' fans! Wonderful idea! Are there any limitations to the personalized logos and designs?

Great question! There are only two limitations: one is size considerations - it's limited to the the right-hand side of the front cover. The other limitation is anything obscene - which would not be in the fun spirit of the Audman. Besides that, it's all up to you!

These look great Dean and Sean!!! Best of luck on getting this exciting product to market!

Update #3: Avoid a shattered iPhone - get an Audman!
Hey Kickstarters!
Thanks for checking out our project. If you're not already a backer, I hope you will consider pledging to our project.
I dropped my iPhone on the sidewalk today. From 3 feet above ground. And the glass shattered, even with a thin rubberized candy case. Wow! The iPhone is so elegant yet fragile. The best way to protect your indispensable wonder phone is with an Audman.

Hi Gerrit - good questions. This is a new prototype of the exterior that we just got and as of yet, doesn't have the 30pin dock connector or electronics so that explains the loose fit you're noticing in the video. I was excited to show it off as is our first full ABS prototype. The dock connector holds the iPhone in place in each of the 3 dimensions. It's designed to hold the iPhone snug against the interior wall and also to hold it close enough to the side (top side of iPhone) so that it cannot move around inside the Audman. We haven't designed in any extra padding though if the Audman isn't able to protect the iPhone in drop tests as we plan, we will definitely consider adding some in. Sean and I are iPhone and iPod users and want a good product and one that will protect our investments just as much as anyone so I can definitely sympathize with your concerns about the fit and impact protection. I hope this answers your questions :)

Some leaf springs on either side would hold the iPhone snugly. Inexpensive, so cogs stay low.

Great idea Mark. Thanks for the suggestion! My shattered iPhone taught me just how fragile the device can be. We designed the Audman to protect the iPhone but ideas such as this can help to improve the protection the Audman can offer and we are happy to keep improving on the design.

Update #2: Post launch and site visit
Hey Kickstarters,
Thanks to all our backers for the support and feedback we've received. We're sorry we haven't been as responsive as we should have. Right after launching, we left for Shenzhen, China to meet with our manufacturer and get to know the team who will be overseeing production and the people who will be assembling the Audman. After meeting with them, we have confidence they will do an excellent job!

We also inspected our enhanced prototypes to prepare for production. These looked and felt great and got us even more excited about the quality and precision of the final product.

It has been an exciting and productive couple of days. The Audman is one step closer to reality. We really need your help in spreading the word so the funding will be in place in order to start production as soon as possible.
Cheers,
Dean and Sean

Dean Ekkaia is a designer and hardware developer.
Sean Solberg is an engineer and programmer.
Dean and Sean started as rivals at competing high schools before becoming college roommates and best friends. After college, their careers took them to different places but they continued to discuss product ideas. Several years later, they found themselves both working in the San Francisco Bay Area and began trail running in the Berkeley hills. It was during these often 2+ hour runs that they would come up with new product development ideas, and the idea of the Audman was born.
Special thanks to designer Seoung Hyun Son!

Nice touch with the postcard guys -- I am definitely going to give this to someone!
