@Anthony, the major delay was due to the delays in getting Tammany Hall shipped out. In addition, as Nathan pointed out below, there have been a number of minor issues that have cropped up that have slowed down the production process.

While it is a reprint, Nathan has made a point in upgrading all components of the game. So there is a lot of stuff to keep track of in terms of component quality.

That said, in hindsight it probably would have been better if the projects had been spaced out further, thereby giving each game time for production without the others being delayed.

Isn't this just a reprint of a game that existed but with better bits? I'm having a hard time understanding how / why this wouldn't be in my hands within a year of the kickstarter ending. Is there something I'm missing here? Wasn't the original date supposed to be February 2013?

      Dan,

We ran into a couple of more small file issues during production. It's one of the reasons I didn't want to put a guess as to when exactly the game will be ready until production is finished. Tammany went pretty smoothly at the printer and didn't have a lot of issues. Great Fire has had a series of small issues that had to be corrected.

Pandasaurus Games, Keep going and bringing games to market. We can all see your progress to get the TGFOL to us but you can't rest on your laurels you have to keep pushing. I'm way excited to see what your next kickstarter will be. I am sad i missed out on Tammney and Lost valley didn't strike a cord with me but i htink you do great work. Please keep it up through kickstarter and traditional means.

    10. Pandasaur%20no%20logo.small

Creator Pandasaurus Games on May 20

      Matt,

We are working hard on Great Fire and Lost Valley. Our new games are being produced by European publishers as part of a larger international price to run and we are only picking up the US publication. Effectively, these sorts of games require a lot less time commitment and a ton less work than something like our first three titles where we are handling everything ourselves.

We aren't going to be launching any more games where Pandasaurus will be handling the production until after both Great Fire and Lost Valley are at the printers. Great Fire is there now, Lost Valley is very close.

    11. Scv.small

      Creator Matt on May 20

So why when you have to unfulfilled Kickstarter campaigns running still do you have not 1 but 3 games coming out this June when these two games don't even have a shipping time frame yet?

I mean that looks really bad when we're getting more updates about your new projects coming out then your current projects that are running way overdue? Thank god they aren't a kickstarter or i'd be telling people not to back all day long because that is not the way you should be treating your customers.

      Hey guys,

I'm a backer for The Great Fire of London and Lost Valley, just wanted to give a heads up to NOT ship to Canada by UPS! And if you do, put the customs value to 10$ or less, this will save you alot of headaches and figuring out what to do for compensation. If you don't, UPS will charge me at least 40$ brokerage fees.

      Thanks!

      Yeah,

There are lots of little things that you can't do when running a campaign that you would think you could. I guess this exists so that someone can't just keep changing the date or the reward description.

I'm not sure if non-project backers can view updates on Tammany Hall or not (this is where I'm pulling all this from). After my last post, PSG posted the following on the TH project:

      2) If you sent me an email about missing parts (or games presumably), we've gotten it, and it's on the way! I didn't reply to all of these emails due to time constraints and a failed auto-responder on my email address that I thought was confirming receipt of those emails, but we have gotten the email and you should have them shortly.

Also, for those of you that having missing parts or damaged copies of the game (including things like box-cutter damage) you should contact Pandasaurus at the following:
address@pandasaurusgames.com with a subject line of "Tammany Hall Missing Parts."

Please note my previous comment about the bowler and top hat meeples. You should have 5 bags of 18 Bowlers, and a bag containing 2 Top Hats of each color.

    25. Tom1.small

Creator Richard Gray on March 11

@Joel - actually I can answer many of your questions directly from the Tammany Hall project page.

You do not have an incorrect number of ward bosses. the game comes with 90 of them (18 in each color). The game also comes with the ten Top Hat meeples. These are essentially your 19th and 20th ward bosses, however since you don't NEED that many those are actuallly used to keep track of things like scoring and who immigrant leaders.

The political position cards are used as a reminder for who has what job. When a person is appointed a position, they are given the card to serve as a reminder of who they are and what special abilities they can use. The flag decals are for the political favor chips. they were changed to a more time-appropriate flag, so yes I would probably use the box as a guide for which one is which if you are unsure.

      Nathan McNair – Pandasaurus Games:

I got your e-mail address from Alliance Game Distributors. They said to contact you. By the way, the phone number you have on your website for the Midwest Alliance Distributor in Fort Wayne, IN is not correct (it is not an active number). Their correct number is 1-800-444-3552. I had to look up their website on the Internet and was thankful they actually had an e-mail address I could use to reach out to you. See below for further details and my specific concerns. Thanks.

      1. I received a copy of “Tammany Hall” as a kickstarter reward for pledging support for “The Great Fire of London” Game. When I received the “Tammany Hall” game, the Yellow, Black, Purple, and Red Ward Boss pieces (with the derby hats) were each missing two (2) pieces. The count should be 20 for each of them, but I only received 18 pieces each. The natural (unpainted) Ward Boss pieces came with the right count and all 20 pieces were present in that color.

      a. Summary: Missing Ward Boss Pieces (with derby hats)

      2- Yellow

      2- Black

      2-Purple

      2-Red

      b. Please send me the above missing pieces. My address is below my signature block. Thanks.

      2. Prior to the start of the kickstarter project for “The Great Fire of London” Game, on 7/18/2012 I had preordered the “Tammany Hall” game via your Pandasaurus website. I’ve left several message all over your website requesting the cancellation of my preorder because I had selected to receive the game as a tag-on reward for supporting “The Great Fire of London” kickstarter campaign. I have never ever received confirmation back from you that my preorder has been canceled. I do not want to receive two copies of the game so please cancel my preorder and let me know that has been done. My “Tammany Hall” preorder number is: 68DE2F96911DA3B4. Thanks.

      3. I noticed that the “Tammany Hall” game contained parts that are not mentioned in the rules or component section of the rules. Some items are pictured on the back of the box, however, no explanation accompanies the pictures. Could you please answer my questions regarding the following items?

      a. How are the five political position cardboard cards used? They are pictured on the back of the box, but that is all. Do these cards just get placed in front of the players to indicate they have been assigned those positions following an election, or is there more to their use?

      b. The flag stickers are not mentioned in the rules. I was not sure where to put them, but noticed that the favor tokens came in the same count (35). I am guessing the flags go on the favor tokens. Is that right? If so, then I was further confused as to which nationality favor token to put the flags on. The back of the box seemed to provide a clue by indicating the nationality for each flag. Do I simply use the back of the box as a key for which favor token nationalities to put the flags on?

      c. There are 10 (2 of each of the five player color) meeples with top hats. The rules do not mention them on the component list and the rest of the rules don’t explain their use. What are these used for? Also, what are they to be called or known as in support of the games scenario (since the derby hat pieces are already called Ward Bosses)?

      4. Please be advised, the copy of “Tammany Hall” I received had a slit on the cover of the game box that split open a portion of the cellophane wrap and left a fine slice down the middle of the image of Boss Tweed. This blemish was done by a box cutter (or similar item) prior to shipment to me because I opened the shipping box in a manner that would ensure the game would be protected from any harm. The game was buried deep in foam packing peanuts when I opened the box and I had to dig way down in the box to get to the game out. Once I cleared the peanuts away and had the game in hand, I noticed the non-pristine condition of the game. Since I am a collector, I was a bit disappointed. I tried to contact you via “The Great Fire of London” Kickstarter site (because I’ve never been able to successfully receive a response from you using your Pandasaurus website). I planned to wait until I heard back from you before I opened the game so I could find out what you wanted me to do. After waiting for a reply–which did not ever come–I finally decided to just ‘suck it up’ and removed the cellophane and opened the game despite the condition of the box top. That’s when I inventoried the pieces and identified the problems and came up with the questions as noted in the paragraphs above.

      5. Please confirm receipt of this e-mail and let me know how you will be addressing the problems and questions I’ve mentioned above. Thanks.

      Very respectfully,

So have all of the Tammany Hall copies of the Tammany Hall/GFoL rewards been shipped out? I know people have started getting them, and I wanted to know how long to wait before I start asking where my copy is. I live in Canada, so I know to give an extra week or two for customs, but it would help if I knew when the copies being sent to Canada were shipped out.

@Colin - Periodic updates saying "we're busy w/ ___" sounds perfectly fine, until they say that a couple of times and people start complaining about how "That's all you've said for the past X updates." The truth of the matter is, no matter what they do the vocal minority is going to be up in arms about it. It's better to have concrete information, than to have someone interpret "It should be ___" as a promise that they've now broken.

A simple, honest statement of where the project stands would be appreciated. Doing so once a month would be more than enough, even if it's "sorry everyone we're busy on the other KS project, but we haven't forgotten this". What's really unfortunate is that it took a post of Trevor's tone to make you post; there's been plenty of gentle prodding from Aug 2012 until early Jan 2013, so frustration has set in for your backers.

I bit more frequent of updates would have been nice. However, it didn't happen. I wonder if there would be a way for you to find some help with updates, maybe there would be some backers who could help. I 'hear' overwhelmed in your voice. Thank you for all of the work you are putting in to bring us a great game. I hope the future is smoother sailing for you.

      Trevor,

Most of my attention is with Tammany right now and trying to get it shipped. It's taken much longer to solve the wooden cone problem then I initially thought it would. I've now got proper wooden cones and will be moving forward with production shortly. The initial estimate was based on the timeline I was given for tammany productions which would have had that project here in October. It is only now shipping. So, it's just going to take longer than initially thought to produce.

I'm also going to be providing less and more high level updates than I did for Tammany. I made the mistake of providing play by play updates of what I knew with that and it sort of blew up in my face.

    42. Fb_profile_picture.small

Creator Trevor Christensen on January 29

No update in over 3 months. We collectively handed you over sixty thousand dollars on this project alone, certainly that deserves 15 minutes of your time to post an update of some sort monthly. I can't see how that is asking too much. We do not know if this game has been sent off to the printers or if the files are just sitting in limbo. Same goes for Lost Valley. I have backed all three of the games Pandasaurus put here and of all of my kickstarter experiences this company has been BY FAR my worst. I have backed enough projects (and created my own) to fully expect all of these games to go WAY over schedule it comes with the territory, but what I didn't expect was no communication.

It is coming along, though will probably see a slight delay. Our first game has been held at customs for over a month, so most of our time has been spent trying to get it off of the boat, but it looks like we may have some light at the end of the tunnel there, and will be shifting all of our focus to GFOL.

He has been updating Tammany Hall's kickstarter on a regular basis. So i imagine once that gets out of the customs nightmare he is currently dealing with and gets the game shipped out he will move onto updating this one on a regular basis.

While i agree he should be telling us more status updates i think he realized once he finished he third project how much work updating all three at once would be hence he never launched a 4th kickstarter and has gone silent on these two to get his first one that is running behind schedule out.
