About this project
as a musician, recording and making an album always feels like the ultimate goal. a chance to share emotions and growth on a larger scale, and communicate with others through our chosen craft.
over the years, i have been fortunate enough to fund all of these projects myself, which i felt lead to greater creative control. now, as situations financially in my life have changed, i am looking at the kindness and generosity of others to assist me with this project.
there are some really great people involved: Bill Kuehn, Caithlin De Marrais, & Kyle Fischer (formally known as Rainer Maria) will provide the 'backing band', and Brian Bender of The Motherbrain Studio in Sunset Park will be the master behind the controls. its a unique opportunity to have so many talented friends offer their assistance.
it is my hope through this kickstarter campaign that i can raise enough funds to not only record and master the record, but also have some budget left for promotion once completed. one of my biggest regrets from my last two records is that they never received the PR i felt they deserved.

Since his first release in 1999, Chris McFarland has been a constant force in the acoustic indie/DIY scene. Whether solo, or with backing musicians, McFarland posses an intimate quality that grabs the listener and pulls them into the story of the song.
Chris has shared stages with National Acts such as: Neko Case, Bright Eyes, Granddaddy, Rainer Maria, Mates of State, Britt Daniel (of Spoon), The Dirty Three, & Denali just to name a few.
A true road warrior, his tour schedule shows a dedication to his craft, and he can be found crossing the United States several months of the year.
With music being classified as everything from Angry Folk/Singer-Songwriter to percussive Rock, McFarland's diverse influences have combined for a truly unique and personal sound.
