Raw.  Messy.  Physical. Is there a difference between creation and destruction?  The Psychic Life of Savages is a frenzied feast of language and body that knocks the walls out and explores what it is to be an artist struggling for voice. The play's characters--fantastical re-imaginings of famous poets Sylvia Plath, Anne Sexton, Ted Hughes, Robert Lowell, and Emily Dickinson--straddle insanity and genius, indulgence and inspiration. This play is not a biography; rather, Freed imagines a world where the poets are their poetry-- volatile, wickedly funny, ecstatic, vital. The experience of life is heightened, an amplification of life's harrowing lows and absurd euphorias.

The funds raised will help us secure a space to house our production.  Remaining amount will go entirely towards other production costs:   costumes, lights, sound, publicity, and rights.

Upon reaching our goal we will feature this three week long run in the heart of Los Angeles, bringing to our audience a play that combines visceral language and physical abandon.
