ABOUT THE FILM:
"Spikey Van Dykey" is a documentary about one of Florida's most popular drag kings. The film will take a behind the scenes look at what life is like on and off stage for a performer in the LGBT community.

WHAT IS KICKSTARTER?
Kickstarter is a fundraising tool for getting this film made. Through donations from family, friends, and Spikey fans, we hope to raise enough money to make DVDs of the film and get the film into several festivals. The funds will also be used for gas, food, and hotel expenses while traveling with Spikey.
This campaign will run through Feb. 29, 2012. That may not seem like a lot of time to raise $500, but if someone donates about $20 per day, we should be able to raise our goal! If I don't raise at least $500 by that date, I don't get any of the funding (No Pressure).

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR:
Steph Segler is a senior at the University of Central Florida. This will be her fourth film, and second documentary, through the UCF film BFA program. Her previous film, Walking Without Limits, was selected to be on UCF's Five Best Stories DVD and was an Official Selection at Florida's Brouhaha Film Festival. The film will be screening at this year's upcoming Florida Film Festival.
Steph will also be producing an upcoming LGBT feature film entitled "The Lies We Tell" which is set to film December 2012. Look for it on Kickstarter in early March! www.thelieswetellmovie.com
