Ten Little Gator Eggs is a counting up and down book that includes the life cycle of the American Alligator and a page of alligator facts. The counting parts can be sung with the tune of Ten Little Indians

Dennise Sleeper began this story in July 2010. She worked with a children's writing group and perfected the story through their guidance. She presented it to an agent the summer of 2011 in a Children's Writing Conference. Said agent liked it very much, made a couple of minor suggestions but refused to take her on as a client since she didn't have a novel to present for publication. It has been sitting in it's folder since then. Dennise is not an artist, but has great respect and is enamored with the art of children. After much consideration, she approached The Children's Gallery & Arts Center to illustrate her book. They demonstrate the dedication to community she values and felt they would benefit greatly from the publication of this book with their illustrations. They have agreed and their children will be the illustrators.

Many of the children attending The Children's Gallery & Arts Center have lost art classes in their schools due to budget cuts. The financially stable homes will be able to pay for art classes in their private schools or through art programs, but those without funds may lose their right to express and grow their artistic abilities. Many that attend the gallery are physically and mentally challenged.

• Three hardback copies for each illustrator

A Facebook "like" contest for each piece of artwork will result in the actual cover art. (don't worry, the mock cover here is to provide us with something concrete until we have the actual cover)
