Funny how time flies when you're having fun. Amazingly, tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of successfully completing our Campaign for FreeCandy and the space is finally ready for your arrival! The FreeCandy team and I have been working night and day (and sometimes in between) to get the space ready for "it's close-up". The paint's almost dry, so we figured why not use this very special occasion to preview it with the most important people we know, our supporters! I know it's last minute, but I would love to see you tomorrow evening and show you what your contributions have created!

Good Morning Candy Companions,

My how time flies.

It's been almost an entire year since we collectively began the journey toward FreeCandy, yet it feels just like yesterday. After several stops and starts, that included looking at what seemed like every empty space in the borough, the universe conspired to give us what we wanted in the first place! In May, I signed the lease to 905 Atlantic Ave as the home of FreeCandy. With that said, I am proud to announce that the vision of FreeCandy is now reality!

Over the past several months, my team and I have been very (very) busy, working day and night, to complete the build-out process. We have turned a 7200 sq. ft. garage into what will soon be one of Brooklyn's premiere mixed-use live music and arts venues! Although the primary work on the space is complete we are still awaiting some final paperwork - liquor license I'm looking at you. In the meantime, FreeCandy is ready to host private events. That means we can host private corporate or personal events, art showcases, photo shoots, video interviews, theatrical rehearsals, music rehearsals, film screenings, etc. If you or anyone you know is looking for affordable event, studio or gallery space, please send them my way. I'd love to talk with them!

And now to the real business at hand - T-shirts and Candy! Please forgive the delay in getting you the rewards for your support. I had to put every dime raised (and a little bit more) into securing and developing the space. The good news is, now that that is done (mostly), I can fully focus on creating the gnarliest tees for you guys. You've been extremely patient, so I'm doing all I can to get the reward packages sent asap!

What's next? Over the next several days and weeks, we will be revamping our web presence to fully reflect the awesomeness that is FreeCandy and putting together a calendar of special events intended to introduce the space to the surrounding community. In the short term we will be posting pics of the space and the process on our facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/FREETHECANDY). But most importantly, I invite you all to stop by as we put the finishing touches on the space. I think that you'll be pleasantly surprised by what your support has created.

Once again, I can't thank you enough for your patience and continued support as I/we feel our way through this mighty process! You guys rock, and very soon, we'll all rock together in FreeCandy!!!!

Well guys..................................WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....................WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just returned home from what was easily one of THE most amazing days of my life! I am all at once, humbled, shocked, inspired and energized by all of your belief, encouragement and support for FreeCandy. I can not thank you enough for making the vision of FreeCandy your own. And due to that, I now have the ability to make that vision reality.

Over the next several days, weeks and months, I will be going about the near-term business of FreeCandy securing the space's long term success. That means immediately securing the facility, fit-out and initial operation development...all leading to the opening of Clinton Hill's FIRST multipurpose Performance and Visual Arts venue! I came to New York City to bring this dream to life and you all have now provided me the ability to do just that. I will be eternally grateful.

Stay tuned for continued updates as FreeCandy is born. Now let's get to work!
