This is an important moment in our country’s history. Everyone knows that now. There are Occupy movements and Tea Parties and other groups to keep the pressure on politicians. But who’s encouraging the media to play it straighter not only with political coverage, but also in matters of importance in every aspect of our lives? With coverage of business, education, and family? What gathering of citizens is here to let the media know we’re ready for the truth? That we insist on it?

The Independent Voice Project’s mission is to insist on more transparency and truth in talk shows, news, and all forms of media. We hope to show others there is interest in supporting media when it’s done in a fair and upfront manner. Other media outlets will follow suit if they see folks like you backing efforts like this one. In other words, if they see it as financial viable, they’ll be more transparent! So who is here to tell the media that we’re not interested in spin or bias or talking point nonsense? Who is here to tell people they should have a fair voice in media?

We want to try a very important experiment. We need to see if straightforward, common sense reporting has a place in the modern media world. We think it does. If we succeed, we will be encouraging current and future journalists to play it straight. We will send a message to the world that REAL journalism has value. We might even earn the people’s trust again. We are starting by forming a small team of journalists, and launching the Independent Voice Project web Television shows. Live shows every weekday. We will write a book to chronicle our project, and release the book before the 2012 Presidential election. The time to point out what the media has become is now. We have no agenda, no cause.
