Update #2: 48 Hours to Go - Update on Table
First, I want to thank everyone for their generous pledges. Our event in the park is coming up on Sunday and Henge, the maker of the table, has told us that we will have a temporary installation of the table for the day (actually it will go in tomorrow, so bring a paddle and check it out). We expect to have the table installed for a longer-term stay a few weeks later.
Update #1: Story About Our Project
A great local blog just ran this story about our efforts to get the park restored and mentioned the ping pong table and the kickstarter campaign - take a look.

We're a group of Lower East Side volunteers who decided to get our local park fixed up. After having most of the trees and benches removed, Gulick Park, named after the real guy behind the invention of basketball and the Campfire Girls, started to resemble an abandoned lot. We've spend the past year planting bushes, trees and bulbs, painting, and lobbying elected officials and are well on our way to making the park a greener, more vibrant spot under the gritty Willy B bridge. Check us out at www.gulickpark.org.
