Primitive Times, my homegrown indie rock record, has been 2 years in the making. It's so done! Now, I need you to be my record company.
Hello, is this thing on? My name is Dylan Connor, and I write songs. After two years of writing, recording, mixing, obsessing and re-recording, my new record Primitive Times is finished and ready to go. The goal of this campaign is to package and launch Primitive Times in the most effective and comprehensive manner possible. Publicity, marketing, radio promotion, and touring are all essential elements of an independent release - but they are expensive. Instead of spending thousands of dollars on the recording process (like on my last three records), the money for this project will go almost entirely towards promotion. What's the point of making a record if it doesn't get a fair shot at being heard, right?
I recorded all of the tracks for Primitive Times in a basement, on my Mac. Then, I emailed the songs to friend and engineer Merritt Jacob, who played lead guitars and mixed them in a cramped NYC apartment. The result is Primitive Times - the most honest and most diverse sounding record I have made. If you come on board for this Rock 'n Roll journey, we will accomplish the following together:
1. Invest in a three month marketing/ PR campaign, aimed at getting press in magazines, online music Blogs, TV and radio . (Cost approx. $6,000)
2. Launch an 8-10 week College and Satellite radio campaign aimed at getting Primitive Times on the airwaves across the country. (Cost approx. $3,000)
3. Pay for the design and replication of 1000 beautiful looking CD's that will be made available world wide through i-tunes, CD Baby, etc. (Cost approx. $2,000)
4. Produce a bad ass video for the title track "Primitive Times". (Cost approx. $1000)
5. Master the record so that it has that special sparkle. (cost approx. $1000)
