Exploring the Sawtooths – A Comprehensive Guide is the latest full-color, waterproof, map-based guidebook written, photographed, and designed by Matt Leidecker. It will be published by Idaho River Publications LLC., and is the fourth river and hiking guidebook published by the company. This Kickstarter campaign is intended to raise money through pre-sales of the guidebook and other reward items to help cover the up front printing cost.

Matt and his family spent the summer of 2011 living in a renovated 1986 Jayco Motorhome that they used as a family basecamp. They hiked or biked nearly every trail in the Sawtooth Mountains between June and October last summer (751 miles to be precise).
Over the winter and spring of 2012, Matt designed and wrote the 144-page book. It is currently en route to a printer in Sacramento California. Here are a few sample spreads:
Matt is using Kickstarter to offer a variety of reward packages including a custom designed “Exploring the Sawtooths” T-shirt, signed copies of the new guidebook, photographic prints, and a guided photography expedition into the beautiful Sawtooth Backcountry.
The goal of this Kickstarter campaign is to raise funds through pre-sales of the guidebook, T-shirts, and photographs to help offset the cost of printing on synthetic waterproof and tearproof YUPO paper. Thanks for the support! I hope the book helps you fully enjoy the majestic Sawtooth Mountains.
